A slight change to tomorrow's (9th Oct) line-up. Sadly Red Shoes cannot make it due to injury. However, we have Bryter Than stepping in for them. They delighted the audience at our Canal weekend last week and, being local, were the obvious choice. Also on the Bill are Abi Rowberry and The Lost Notes. At General Foods Sports and Social Club, OX16 2PA, 12-5pm.

Hi everyone.
I am organising music for the Banbury Canal Festival on 1st and 2nd October 2022. This is in association with Banbury Town Council, who are coordinating the weekend. I’m looking for volunteers to come and play for free. I know it’s a cheek but, BTC doesn’t have a budget that we can dip into. I’m looking for around 12 performers and maybe a compere or two. It will also be a springboard for our festival the following weekend. I can offer space on a merchandise stand, staffed by one of our volunteers, and we do not take a cut at all.
If the weather is fine, we will be doing it on the outside stage, and would expect well over 1000 people passing by each day. If we have inclement weather we will be inside, with around 150 people.
If this is something you may be interested in, or you know anyone who might be, please let me know by text to 07845 821041, 07484 674882 or email [email protected].
Thank you for taking time to read this.

We are looking for helpers for the Banbury Folk Festival, 7th – 9th October 2022. It’s a very much scaled down event, with mainly free entry, principally located at GFS&SC. The work, in the main, wouldn’t be onerous or particularly hard. In fact, most of it would be done sitting down, handing out wristbands, programmes or selling Tombola tickets and cakes. Maybe rattling a bucket at attendees! We could do with some help on Friday night, to take equipment up to the ballroom but, there is a lift and there’s nothing excessively heavy.
It will be unpaid but, we can let you have a free ticket for the Saturday night.
Times will be:
Friday 1900-2300
Saturday 1130-1530
Saturday 1900-2300
Sunday 1130-1800
If you are able to do any hours at all, please let me know and I’ll roster you in.
Thank you.

This year's festival has been postponed until 8th-10th October 2021. This is principally to do with the uncertainty over Covid 19 but, additionally, because of cancelled events across the country, we are unable to advertise the event as we normally would. We are currently negotiating with artists and hope to bring as many back as possible, that were booked for this year. Whenever we have confirmed details, we will update the website. Thank you for your understanding.
