Today the children learnt how to scale up a drawing using a grid.
Then we experimented with ink and watercolours to create a huge beetle, drawing from an actual (dead) beetle - creating an response of either horror or fascination...

This was the last session before the Summer Holidays. We hope that you have a lovely break and look forward to seeing you in September..!

Continuing with the theme of 'Imprint' and.. National Hedgerows Week, we collected and made imprints of flowers, grasses and branches. From the clay, we created a plaster cast. Gasps all round - the children really enjoyed this!

This term we are looking at the concept of IMPRINT. Today we made filters to place in front of the cameras to create experimental images recording as an imprint.

For our final week before the break, we were looking at the work of artist and designer Sonia Delaunay. Using simple geometic shapes wooden block and hoops as templates, the children made their own compostions inpsired by the artists work. Pastels, coloured pencils and tissue paper was used to colour the works. Our art club artists enjoyed playing with the compostions often stacking the blocks and drawing then drawing around the random shapes and playing with the colours.
