Tonight was small, but massive (to quote Glasgowbury). Four/Five very different musicians and for everyone who turned up we all got a great insight into the artists that roam this town.
Sherman opened the night and whether he is playing to an empty room or Wembley he doesn't slack off, he doesn't give any less. When Sherman hits the stage he commands your attention. Giving us a brief run through some of his songs and poems with the same enthusiasm you'd expect from him and that angelic voice of his.
(Black Betty Karaoke had it's second and final airing tonight).
Sandeep brought a more relaxed set to JAMM. There were a few technical jack lead hiccups to begin however as soon as he began strumming the room knew they were in safe hands. His cover of Zombie had us all singing aloud with him and we'll be looking to welcome him back next time to see what he has in store for us next.
After an intermission Dylan took the stage shortly after and I was personally blown away by the performance. It's a surprise fella's like him aren't currently gigging full time. A natural performer and definately one to watch for next time. I didn't catch the name of his original tracks but they were the standouts of his performance imo.
Finally Dean sat down to close the night. Multiple covers (including a really surprising Biffy Clyro - Questions & Answers cover) that simply captured the imagination. He makes it look effortless. Everyone singing along, forgetting about the dismal weather outside. A set that like helps you forget a bad day and we were lucky to have him pop along to perform his magic.
Thank you to everyone who made it along and also to The Blackstone Bar & Off Sales for supporting these original events. Without that support we'd still be strumming away alone in our rooms.
