Hot Milk Forge offers Evening and Weekend Classes in Blacksmithing with an artistic twist. Evening classes are open to everyone above the age of 16. Participants are encouraged to learn the traditional skills not just because the celebration of wrought iron work is a worthy idea but also because only blacksmithing can introduce you to the full potential of steel as a creative medium. We weld with

a fire at hot milk forge not with electricity. Imagine making your own fire side set, wrought iron gate, gifts for your partner, sculpture....the list goes on. Hot Milk Forge was established by Artist Blacksmith Eamonn Higgins. Eamonn has been a professional Artist/Sculptor since 2003 and for 10 years Blacksmithing has formed an integral part of Eamonn's practice with public works scattered across the UK and his commercial works collected internationally. Founding Tutor of Tannaghmore Blacksmiths Workshop (Highly Commended in the National Craft Skills Awards) Eamonn has been demonstrating and teaching blacksmithing as part of his Public Art practice as long as he has been blacksmithing, in 2014 on completion of a 2 year artist residency in the University of Ulster Eamonn decided it was time his blacksmithing classes had a permanent home and the building for Hot Milk Forge began.

This popped up in the Memories, Anne's flower pot holder. She made this wonderful piece over the evening classes at Hot Milk Forge a few years ago. She's moved on now to my wife's pottery classes . In equally as impressive fashion.

Busy but fun night at the forge tonight's on the evening class. Sean at his Crosses, Donal making one too, Johan at his tree sculpture and Luke working on his tenons for his door handle. Great craic tonight thanks lads.
