"I enjoyed painting the contrast of soft feathery clouds against a textured foreground of waves and land using a limited palette. This brings harmony that contrasts with the wild movement of the wind and clouds, a metaphor for hope."

"This collection of paintings was inspired by the special quality of the light between October and March in Scotland.
I was inspired by the glow low in the sky on my walks at dusk, and travels to Skye and the North West Highlands."

In 1994 Anthony moved to the Isle of Lewis where he paints full time, working in his studio gallery, just above the harbour and beach, in Port of Ness. Anthony's work is based primarily on the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, particularly the West Coast and Hebrides.
