Congratulations to Jeff Perks, one of our judges, on being awarded Best Individual Artist at the Buxton Fringe Festival 2024!

Congratulations to our guest artist. Jeff Perks, who won the Individual Artist Award at Buxton Festival Fringe 2024. His exhibition, which was also nominated for the Fringe Visual Arts Event Award, will be on display until 28th August in our ground floor gallery.

Opening times: Tuesday & Wednesday - 10.30am to 2pm; Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 10.30am to 4.30pm. Entry is free.

Our first place winner in the professional category has kindly donated a second painting of Little Longstone Chapel for our charity auction! Jane’s original artwork created during The Great Art Competition can be seen alongside the prize winning artworks in the amateur and junior categories at Hobbs Cafe, Monsal Head. We loved the way Stephen recreated the chapel in collage, especially the inclusion of hikers as they are often seen near the chapel walking the beautiful Peak District routes. This was a popular one with the public on the day.

Caelan’s intriguing interior of the chapel won 2nd prize in the Under 16 category.

The judges loved the unique work and praised Caelan’s individual way of representing different elements which got them all talking about what they could spot.
