So after a rollercoaster few months with some very tough decisions, we have been given a lifeline!

Brush & Pencil will live on across the road at The ABD Centre (albeit in a slightly different format)!!

We haven’t ironed out all the kinks yet but when we do we will keep the page updated!

We are immensely grateful to Peter Dunn and all at The ABD Centre for their kindness and support and allowing us the opportunity to continue to do what we love and we look forward to join the other lovely groups who use the beautiful building!

Many thanks once again for your love and words of support, they have meant so much to us and it was nice to know we made an impact locally however small that may be.

As requested, here are our final Twilight dates - please join us to celebrate the past 3 years!

We want to thank everyone who has sent us kind messages or spoken to us personally - it really means a lot as we are finding it difficult to begin the winding down process, it’s nice to know that it meant something to other people too ❤️

(We realise it’s a bit short notice for
18th February Valentine’s Twilight so this may be subject to cancellation if we don’t get enough bookings for this date).

📣IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT📣

We are so sorry to say that we have made the decision to close Brush & Pencil. It has been an extremely difficult decision and one that we have questioned multiple times over the past few weeks but due to current circumstances our position is untenable. We have held out hope that things will improve but as most people realise, the forecast is looking pretty grim. We realise now it was the wrong time to start a business but no one could have predicted the events of the past couple of years.

The worry of paying the bills has had a negative impact on our general and mental health and the demands of working part time, running the shop and single parenting 3 kids has really taken its toll and we feel the need to prioritise the children and ourselves.

We apologise for the recent radio silence, it has been a struggle to answer questions when we weren’t sure what exactly was going to happen and we have been trying to think of solutions that wouldn’t mean the end of the shop and then trying to come to terms with the decision we have made. I will be getting back to everyone that has sent us a message.

Our final day will be Saturday 4th March but we will still be firing until mid March whilst we dismantle the shop so please do pop in to say goodbye and paint one last time or use any remaining vouchers you might have lurking around.

We will be posting a programme of activities for February half term and having two final Twilight sessions - dates to be confirmed very soon.

Finally and most importantly, we want to sincerely thank everyone who has painted and partied with us over the past 3 and a bit years and made our dream and happy place a reality. We will miss celebrating all the children’s birthdays, the atmosphere at the Twilight sessions, thinking of ideas for Storytimes & Crafternoons and seasonally decorating the window. It has genuinely been a pleasure to open a business in our local community and we are devastated that it can’t continue and that our lovely little town is losing another business.
