Some hints and tips about 🧶 Crochet Comfort
Crochet is brilliant fun, but it’s important to look after our hands, wrists, shoulders and neck while we crochet.
🩷 Choose a comfortable hook
An ergonomic crochet hook has a shaped, comfortable handle that can make crocheting easier on your fingers and hand. It can also help you avoid gripping your hook too tightly.
🖐️ Don’t squeeze your hook!
You don't need to hold your hook really tightly. Try to keep your grip relaxed and let the hook do the work.
⏰ Take regular little breaks
Even when you're having far too much fun to stop! 😂 Put your hook down regularly and give your hands and fingers a little rest.
🙆‍♀️ Stretch and move
Roll your shoulders, gently stretch your fingers and wrists, move your arms around and have a little wiggle. This helps stop you becoming stiff and uncomfortable.
👀 Remember your neck and shoulders
Try not to hunch over your crochet for too long. Sit comfortably, relax your shoulders and bring your work up towards you rather than bending your neck down to it.
🧶 Change position
If you've been crocheting in the same position for a while, get up, move around and come back to it.
❤️ Listen to your body
If something starts to hurt, stop and take a break. Crochet should be enjoyable, not painful.
