Sketch Club Ayr Sketch Club was founded in 1901 and has a long tradition of encouraging artistic pursuits in drawing and painting.

It is a mixed friendly group of professional and talented artists together with lay members and patrons all promoting the club and contributing to its artistic activities. We meet every Monday evening at 7.00 pm in Alloway village hall from the beginning of September until April for constructive criticism of each artists work plus informative talks and demonstrations.

David Reid painted a portrait of his father in a record time of approximately 90 minutes. We were all impressed by David's skills and talent, and we appreciated many useful tips.

This is for Dougie Howat 😊
I feel I have managed to sort the reflection of the yachts that was so wrong ( we chatted about that )
And added some more brush notes to it which I feel is more like it now
It’s good to see it in the gallery with all its mistakes get it home and give it another half an hour as dear Helen would have said !! 😂
