Only THREE three-year-olds have won the Ayr Gold Cup this century:

🏆 Funfair Wane – 2002
🏆 Don’t Touch – 2015
🏆 Angel Alexander – 2019

And Funfair Wane went on to do it again, returning as a five-year-old to win in 2004 making him the last horse to win the Ayr Gold Cup TWICE 🏆

Despite all his incredible worldwide success, legendary jockey Lester Piggott never won the Ayr Gold Cup, neither did famous Scot Willie Carson!

However, Willie’s grandson William Carson did claim victory, winning the race on Regal Parade in 2008🏆

One of the longest-standing trophies at Ayr Racecourse, last year’s race was won by El Burhan, with 2024 winner Financer finishing fifth.
