I’m a firm believer that if you have a bad drum sound you have a bad recording.

There are so many factors that go into achieving this. The drums, the heads, the tuning, the room, the mics, the gear… but non of these variables matter if the performance isn’t passionate and believable.

This all comes from putting the work in and wanting to achieve the very best possible results every time.

This drum session was a prime example of that.

Every artist/band carries ideas that live in their heads. Fragments of melodies, rhythms, and emotions waiting to be brought to life. The studio is where those sparks are explored, shaped, and transformed into something real.

Working with .band has been a reminder of just how powerful that process can be.

Fancy performing to thousands of music lovers next summer? We’re giving you the chance to perform at Live in the Park 2023. Sign up to take part in our Battle of the Bands competition for a chance!

Aylesbury Town Council Battle of the Bands alongside us here at XYZ Music Academy for local bands with all levels of experience to battle it out to bag a slot on the stages at next year’s popular event.

In 2021 the event, which hosted 9.5 hours of live music from local bands and artists, attracted over 14,000 people.

The competition finals will take place in a dedicated marquee at Live in the Park on Saturday 27 August from 6:30pm. Bands need to the link to apply. Apply by 5pm on Friday 22 July.
