“Tradition is to the community what memory is to the individual”. Those are wise words by the wonderful late writer and poet John O’Donohue.

When we loose the memory of our traditions, rituals and stories, a part of us forgets who we are.

What if you knew you could never dance again?
Never have freedom again?
This is one of the Samodivi tales - the wild fae women of the Balkans. But there are many more stories! Sometimes she is captured, but sometimes she captures instead. Sometimes she heals, yet other times she harms.
The Samodiva’s stories are beautiful and numerous.

Join me for The Dance of the Wild Woman.

Every Saturday, she became fully herself — waist down, a serpent.

For one night she belonged to no one but herself.
He promised never to look. But…

Mélusine was a woman keeping one part of herself unseen and veiled. Don’t we all do that sometimes?

🐍 One of the Wild Women we’ll meet in the course.

One of the stories we’ll explore on Wild Women is the story of Melusina from Albania/France.

It is a striking tale of a half fae, half-serpent woman who marries a mortal man, trusting him that he won’t break his promise to her to look upon her on a Saturday.

I’ve always believed stories aren’t just entertainment — they’re one of the oldest forms of healing we have. Long before therapy rooms and clinical language, people sat by fires and worked through grief, fear, and change by telling and hearing stories.

That belief sits at the heart of everything I do as The Story Apothecary. Whether I’m on a stage, in a small community circle, or working one-to-one, I think of myself less as a performer and more as someone dispensing the right story, at the right time, like a remedy.

Story has always been medicine. I’m just here to help it find you. ✨

I’ve been on Murmurations for the past 6 months, led by my mentor of more than a decade, Natasha Lythgoe Natasha Nagadipa

Murmurations has been wonderfully rich with invitations to explore the soft edges of our being, where the wild nettles grow, whilst being in a community of other women, whose voices add to the collective experience.

From embodiment to the mythology of our lives, from the sacred to the common of our days, each session has been an invitation to come into relationship with what is of importance to us, with depth and softness.

For me, it serves as a reminder to keep following the thread that revealed itself during my Vision Fast with Natasha - a thread that easily gets tangled in ‘business as usual’ and the small  ‘gremlins’ that pull us back into unhelpful old habits if we don’t tend to it with care.
