Wellbeing and Engagement Worker
Are you a warm, approachable person who enjoys helping others feel welcome, build confidence and get involved?
We’re looking for someone to join our friendly team at Craftopia CIC, supporting our Path to Purpose programme at Atherton Town Hall.
🩵 About Path to Purpose
Our programme supports adults to improve their mental health and wellbeing through creativity, connection and encouragement. Our path to purpose groups will focus on mental health, parent wellbeing, addiction recovery and support for neurodivergent adults.
We help people feel less isolated, grow in confidence and explore opportunities for learning, volunteering or employment at their own pace.
🩵 About the role
Working alongside our team, you’ll:
• Welcome participants and help them feel comfortable attending our groups.
• Support the delivery of creative and wellbeing activities.
• Build positive relationships, offering encouragement and helping people stay involved.
• Keep in touch with participants and help them overcome barriers to attending.
• Help people explore their interests and goals, connecting them with further opportunities or support.
• Build links with local services and organisations that may refer people to our programme.
• Receive and respond to referrals, helping new participants find suitable groups and supporting their first visit.
• Occasionally attend local meetings or community events to talk about our work.
• Help record referrals, attendance, feedback and progress.
This is a varied part-time role. Priorities will be agreed with the team to balance participant support, group activities and engagement work within the 12 weekly hours.

We’re looking for someone who:
• Is patient, empathetic and non-judgemental.
• Is a good listener who can build trust with people from different backgrounds.
• Understands different needs and the barriers people can face.
• Is organised, reliable and comfortable taking initiative.
• Can communicate with participants, colleagues and local services.
• Respects confidentiality and maintains appropriate boundaries.
• Enjoys working as part of a small, community-focused team.
Experience supporting people through paid work, volunteering or lived experience would be valuable. You don’t need to be an artist, but an interest in creativity and community wellbeing would be lovely!

We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of mental health challenges, parent wellbeing, addiction recovery or neurodivergence, whether personally or through supporting a loved one.
We value the understanding this can bring. You won’t be expected to share private details about your experiences.
📍 Location: Craftopia CIC, Atherton Town Hall, with occasional local community outreach.
🕒 Hours: 12 hours per week
💷 Pay: £16 per hour
📅 Working days: TBC
🌿 Contract: Fixed-term until 31 August 2027, funded through Path to Purpose, with the possibility of extension subject to further funding.
