Happy Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month π©Ίπ
As we close off May, a month dedicated to celebrating the diverse skills of veterinary nurses and the vital role they play in animal care and welfare, we're shining the spotlight on our very own Senior Vet Nurse... Sam! π
π Here at Twycross Zoo, we're proud, and extremely lucky to have an INCREDIBLE on-site veterinary team who work tirelessly to care for the hundreds of animals that call our charity zoo home
πΎ From supporting routine health checks and medical procedures, to monitoring animal wellbeing and assisting with specialist care, Sam's dedication helps ensure every animal receives the highest standard of care each and every day
π©» But Sam's work doesn't stop at the zoo's gates ... last year she was part of a small team who travelled out to Ghana to undertake 11 primate health checks before a potential wild release this year. Whilst there, the team also supported training of 9 local veterinary students, sharing knowledge, best practice and passing on vital skills which will help wild primate populations
Thank you to Sam and our amazing veterinary team for your daily commitment and passion which helps drive our mission forward πΏπ
