A small update that should have been posted about 6 months ago…

I’ve recently moved to India for a while, so the workshop is currently closed and new framing work is on hold.

I’ll continue sharing work from the framing archive and will post updates here when framing resumes.

A little taste of some of the interesting framing projects we’ve loved working on recently. A collection of Bowie 7” picture discs, Damien Hirst Empresses, classical oil painting with handfinished frame and abstract acrylic canvases - stretched and float framed, and a very precious little boys tag rugby shirt and medal.
We’re now on holiday for a couple of weeks, back in the workshop from 9th July.

Treated to a lovely Birthday weekend break on the Sussex coast - beautiful cliffs, rainbows, starling mumurations, dog walks, pub lunches, beaches and great art gallery….what’s not to like?!

4 match worn International Rugby shirts framed slightly differently to the usual football shirt. We carefully folded these enormous jerseys, floated mounted and invisibly stitched them onto conservation mountboard. A classy design, each with v groove detail and a subtle silver plaque finished with Antireflective ArtGlass and white Domino moulding from LION Picture Framing Supplies Ltd

A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone and a special thanks to all our customers for shopping small. We're all done for 2023 now...we open our doors again January 3rd 2024.

A lovely Blue Head by Thierry Noir….float mounted canvas on museum board with matching spacer, Framed to FATG Level 1 and finished with almost invisible museum glass.

A huge well done and thanks to all the volunteers at Ashtead Rotary on organising another great Ashtead Village Day 2023 yesterday.

A very English affair with Morris Men, Classic Cars, afternoon tea, Real Ale and Jugs of Pimms. Dave, the VW Camper took part in the Cherished Car Run and we set up our fun Cassons Framing Photo Booth for a giggle in the glorious sunshine! Hopefully, lots of money raised for deserving Charities.

80 years ago the Dambusters raid took place…..Barnes Wallis (the inventive mastermind behind it) lived all his life in Effingham, Surrey and is buried in St Lawrence’s Church about 3 miles away from Cassons Framing HQ. I passed by today and took a moment to remember this genius, his work and the brave aircrews who gave so much…

A sympathetic approach for these family heirlooms from World War 1, a precious photo and historical documents. Very cool to have something signed by Winston Churchill on the workbench.
