Another fabulous night this week at Skaters Club Ashington.
We got a full house again despite a large amount of our regulars attending a private party in the hour before our main session so was really surprised that we had such a large turnout. 🥰

We had 1 newbie tonight;
Esme is only 7 years old and although she has skated in the street outside of her house, this was her first time in a hall. Esme was brought along by her brother who was one of our newbies from last week (Archer)
Esme got stuck straight in and played all the games.
She said she had fun will be back when her mum is not working. 🌟

We had 2 Birthdays in for a private party before our session but as they are regulars, we would like to wish little Sadie and Penelope very Happy 7th and 8th Birthdays from all of your friends at Skaters Club Ashington. 🎂🎁🎈🎉 (We do not have a picture but they had the most fabulous balloon arch made for their party! 🎈🎈🎈Edit: Picture of the girls and their balloons has been provided. How lovely is this?!)

We had no carnage this week but we did have some really competitive moments.
12 and over Fast n Furious was played clockwise this week and Darcy lead out the pack and was also the only chaser and still managed to wipe out the whole pack (without cheating too so superb effort!). I think we need to find someone other than Lee and Maiya who can match her. Any volunteers?? 🤔🤭😂

Over 12 countdown was a very good showdown too with Jupiter, Nick and Darcy left in for the final try.
Nick is definitely or fastest skater on quads. 🛼💨

In the 11 and under Fast n Furious, the chasers were on fire this week. 🔥
Our first chaser took out the majority of the pack and that left Amelia, Jessica and Felix chasers to sweep up the last 3 competitors.💪
I did love the fact that one of our young skater’s own quads needed fixing before the game and so Darcy dived in with her tool kit like the kid’s personal pit lane crew and got him rolling again in time to start the game!! 🏎️🔧🔩🧰

Once again, if you know that you definitely need a ticket, please book in advance to avoid disappointment.🎟️🛼

Have an awesome week and we will see you all again next Friday! 🛼💖

‼️Only 5 tickets left for tomorrow night (9th October).
If you know anyone who is not on Facebook, please could you give them the heads up that tickets are running low. ‼️

06/10/2026

‼️Quick heads up to everyone.‼️
Half of our tickets have already been booked for Friday 9th October.
If you know that you need tickets for this Friday, please make sure that you book in advance.

03/10/2026

Well that was certainly an interesting night at Skaters Club Ashington.
We hit capacity again last night so please, if you know you need a ticket, we need you to book in advance. Please don’t leave it until the Friday because you run the risk of not getting a ticket. We already have quite a few booked in for next week and at this time of year we really do sell out fast. 🎟️‼️

Last night we had the lovely Timestep Dance Accademy in for a group outing. They were brought along by one of our long time regulars (Matthew, Matilda and Kitty) and so we had 6 newbies. I unfortunately did not get the names but there were 3 kids and 3 mums for our Newbie hall of fame and you can see them all in the group photo. They all had the most wonderful time and they didn’t want the session to end and luckily the dance teacher did not hurt herself because Kitty had been reliably informed that if she damaged herself then Kitty would have to take over teaching the dance class! 😂

We had 2 Birthdays in last night.
Evelyn was 8 last week and Lita (who was a bit camera shy) turned 12 yesterday.
We would like to wish both of our birthday girls a very Happy Birthday from all of your friends at Skaters club Ashington. 🎂🎁🎈🎉

We had some almighty battles again in Fast n furious and we had 4 left in at the end of the 11 and unders and Darcy did manage to catch Oliver just at the end of the 12 and overs.
Big shout out to Hallie who tried leading out the 11 and under fast n furious on her own for the first time and actually got 5 people out! Fantastic work from someone so tiny! ✨

Well done to everyone who joined in the games and to those just starting out, you all did an amazing job and your skills and speed will improve every week.⭐️

We would also like to say a massive Thank you to Sarah, Graeme and Emma who all stepped in without batting an eyelid when one of our skaters took a tumble and whilst we were dealing with that, they helped to run the games and marshall to help keep everything running smoothly and safely whilst we were helping the injured skater. You are all awesome!!💖

On this note we would like to wish Ava a speedy recovery and we hope to see you back in the future as you were making great progress and it’s a shame that the fall stopped you on this occasion. 🌟

Have the most amazing week and we will see you all again next Friday. 💖🛼

02/10/2026

We are now fully booked for tonight (Friday 2nd October).
See you all there.

30/09/2026

Well I don’t know where these days go to, the weeks are just flying by, it is now officially autumn and the nights are closing in at a rapid rate.
Despite the sad fact that summer is over and the weather has already started to get chillier, you will always get a warm welcome every Friday night at our skating session. 🍁🍂

Over the last 2 weeks we had quite a few newbies for our Newbie Hall of fame.
First we had David who last skated when he was around 7 years old.
David joined in with Countdown and made 3 lengths on his first attempt which is awesome.
He came with Wallace who is only 6 years old and had never skated before. He did very well and although he didn’t play any games he was staying upright and that is a major achievement in itself.
Both had a lovely time and they both very much want to come back.🌟

Next we had Phil who last skates when he around 8 and has done really well to retain the skills.
He played Countdown and fast n furious but Preferred countdown.
He came with his children, Darcy who is 8 years old and Caleb who is 6.
Darcy played Corners, limbo and did the speed session and Caleb joined in with our limbo pole.
They all said they had an amazing time and will definitely be back.⭐️

Next we had Archer who is 9 years old. It was Archer’s first time in a hall but he stole his sisters skates a couple months ago to skate outdoors and decided to try it himself properly after being encouraged by our other long term regulars who he is friends with.
Archer also had a wonderful time.✨

And finally we had Lottie aged 6 and Denny aged 8
Both have skated at gutterball before but this was their first time at the normal session after they went to a private party for one of our regulars.
Both absolutely loved the session and are very excited to come back and hopefully become regulars.💫

All of our Newbies did an amazing job and there were smiles all round and we cannot wait to welcome you all back and hopefully you will all become regulars and improve on your balance and skills with each passing week.🌟⭐️

We did have a birthday in last week. Alice turned 9 on the Thursday and we would like to wish Alice a very Happy (belated) birthday from all of your friends at skaters club Ashington. 🎂🎈🎉

There were no dramatic crashes this week but Dawn and Adam did try to crest another door in our end wall in Countdown the week before. Serious competition going on there and we admire your commitment! 💥😂

Almost half of our tickets for Friday have already been booked so we can’t wait to welcome you all back on Friday for loads more laughs. 🎟️🛼

Have an awesome week and see you all again on Friday. 💖

12/09/2026

Absolutely fabulous night again last night and we reached capacity again so it was wonderful to see all of our regulars back together again. 🥰🤩

We had one newbie last night.
Evie is not only new to the session, she is also new to the country having grown up in Malta (I’d say I’m not jealous but I’d be lying! 😂)
Evie is 12 years old and she was brought along by Bella who is turning into a bit of an ambassador in introducing people to our session! Keep up the good work Bella.😁
Evie has only Skated twice before in Malta when she was little so she was pretty much starting from scratch but she did really well and even joined in Corners and Countdown.
She said she had a Good time and wants to come again 🌟

We also had a birthday in.
Grace (of the Flying Shinnerettes fame) turned 11 last Tuesday.
I think these kids need to just stop growing already!
We would like to wish Grace a very happy birthday from all of her friends at SkatersClub Ashington. 🎉🎂🎁🎈

Now onto the carnage for the night…
Mr Skinner decided to punctuate his return to our session by clipping poor Oliver’s skate in countdown (Oliver, who is just returning after an unrelated injury I might add! 🤕😬), so Oliver hit the deck, and Rose had to avoid using Oliver as a speed hump and did the most amazingly slow and controlled fall/slide towards the spectators and managed to come to a stop before causing them any damage too! Kudos to Rose for that one!
Sin bin for Mr Skinner!! 😂😂😂

Hayley also needs to be named and shamed after refusing to join in with countdown on the grounds that (and I quote: “she was sacrificing her daughter instead and sending her as her tribute”!!!). Childline on speed dial in your house Hayley!! Haha!😜😂

Fast n Furious had some almighty battles in both age ranges yesterday but the chasers really gave it their all and although not all of the 11 and unders were caught, the 12 and overs were (with a bit of tactical bending of the rules from Darcy!! 😂).

Again I would like to remind you all that as we are getting to capacity each week again, it is advisable that if you know you definitely need a ticket, please book in advance. 🎟️🛼

Have the most amazing week and we will see you all again next week! 💖

08/09/2026

Bit late on posting from last week but my goodness I have been really busy for the last few weeks it’s been crazy.

Speaking of busy, it was brilliant to see you all out again last Saturday and we were back up to capacity which makes for a great atmosphere.

We had 2 birthdays in;
Alana and Georgia are close friends and both amazingly turned 10 last Thursday so double celebration for them both.
We would like to wish both of the birthday girls a very happy birthday from all of your friends at Skaters Club Ashington. 🎂🎈🎁

Highlights for the night were Emma did the teapot move whilst rolling under the limbo pole. 🫖
Olivia and Emily did an amazing job at chasing in Fast n Furious after having the break over the summer. 💨
Grace stepped in for Elise in Countdown and really held her own against the older ones. 💪
And well done to everyone who joined in with all of the games, it really does improve your skating when you have the game to focus on rather than just focusing on staying upright.🌟

As we are back up to capacity, our advice is back to, if you know for sure that you need a ticket, please ensure that you book in advance so that you don’t miss out by trying to book on the night when they have all been booked.

Have the best week and we will see you all again on Friday. 🎟️🛼💖
