Houses in my town are offensively expensive. The property market here is clearly aimed at commuters who work in London and use the high-speed train service. Renders local folk, working for the local community, unable to afford to buy.

Rental costs increase more and more and often costs much more than a mortgage payment would cost?!

One landlord in this town owned 300+ properties and when called out for not upholding his contractual obligations to his tenants he started evicting folk and putting selling his properties. Rendering people without accommodation at short notice, reducing the number of rental properties available, reducing supply which in turn increases costs.

In my day job as a psychiatric nurse, online through and with local people I been involved in lots of conversations about healing lately, talking about what people find restorative and the need to be able to do what they need to do to maximise their wellbeing.

I was so excited when I heard about 's new project. She plans to do up an ice cream van and, in cooperation with various mental health charities, drive to cities in the UK to offer people the chance to talk... over an ice cream... What an essential and vital space to create for people whilst offering some fun and a treat in the shape of an ice cream?!
