What a night! In sub-tropical temperatures we pulled off an amazing performance to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. This will be a night to remember, not just for the Band but also for the fantastic audience - your generous appreciation of our playing made it all worthwhile. A big "thank you" to Claire-Yvonne for taking so many great photographs, and to everyone who played their part in last night's concert. In thirty years we've never played to so many fans!

With our 30th Anniversary Concert now just days away another great rehearsal with everyone giving 100% concentration preparing our programme of music, and what a selection of great pieces the Band has chosen.

Firm favourites from the West End Stage include Miss Saigon and Les Miserables. Cinematic greats include How To Train Your Dragon, Pocahontas, The Last Of The Mohicans, Pirates Of The Caribbean, Beauty And The Beast and The Mandalorian. Finally we will be rounding the programe out with some great original works for concert band.

A little throwback to 10 years ago when we celebrated our 20th anniversary with a tour to Yorkshire, playing at St Hilda’s Church in Whitby in aid of the RNLI (how cute is Elmer with his little badge!) and in Scarborough! We also had celebratory dinner, an anniversary concert in Ashby and some very yummy cake!

This year marks our 30th anniversary year. Following a wonderful concert at Derby Cathedral, we will be returning to our main venue of Holy Trinity Church for our Anniversary Concert. Join us on Saturday 27th June at 7:30pm to hear our favourite pieces that showcase the talent and dedication of Ashby Concert Band. This promises to be a special evening.
Tickets cost £12 for adults, £6 for children and under 5’s go free.

Ashby Concert Band is looking for experienced orchestral trombonists to join the band.

You must be confident reading bass clef trombone parts and capable of performing advanced repertoire pieces. This is an exciting opportunity to perform a varied repertoire of music, including symphonic transcriptions, concert band classics, film music, and contemporary works in a friendly and ambitious musical environment.

If you have orchestral, symphonic wind band, or equivalent ensemble experience and are looking for a challenging and rewarding musical environment, we'd love to hear from you.
