We had the most incredibly magical evening at our new cabin last night !! Thank you so very much to all of you that came along to celebrate this special new space with us ! Our Craftmongers base in the heart of Cornwall- a truly enchanting place, surrounded by dense woodland and the wild moors. Although only a few short minutes from the A30 & A38.. (perfect for a travelling detour!).. you wouldn't know it - Bodmin Moor is more than otherworldly in my opinion, and our little cabin is most certainly at home here ! Soaking up the wild wondrous energy and charm.
The love for our new shop in the few weeks that we have been open has been overwhelming, and every compliment and kind word means so much.. and last night.. well !! That was the icing on the cake ! - We are feeling full of love and appreciation, joy, and excitement for the future ! So happy to be joined by Rosie Rose-Marie Caldecott and Ella last night (two of our Ashburton shop superstars!) and of course another enormous thank you to Ellie, Sophie and Dom for helping conjure up the magic from day dot down here !! Join us for a little celebration this Friday evening (28th August). An open invite to all of our creative community and supporters... and all of you wonderful souls just discovering us and the stunning location that is Stable Art. A chance to gather, share, spark ideas, dream up future chapters and celebrate our new base in the most magical place !

I do hope that many of our Devon and beyond makers and community will venture across the bridge to find us and indulge in some Cornish Craftmongers love and excitement !

We have been blown away by you all - finding us in our new patch of paradise ! It has been a wondrous first week and we feel like we are exactly where the universe wanted us to be !

Come along .. explore the unbelievable beauty - Moors, woods, forests, lakes .. (just shout if you need any pointers ! Our home turf and there is so so much magic to be found around us!) ..

It will also be a wonderful opportunity to speak to David and Sarah and their brilliant team about running workshops - or participating ! (They have an amazing flow of them upstairs in the beautiful chapel).. explore the grounds and other businesses, and treat yourselves to some delicious food and drinks downstairs Sarah StableArt (serving all evening!).. and I'll make sure I have some fizzy stuff to hand at the cabin too ! 😉

Mid-week magic ! Sorry we've been a little quiet here.. it is quite the wonderful whirlwind at the moment, and we have so so much to share with you ! .. Our creative community has been bringing absolute gold and sparkling magpie magic .. here's a little peek at some of the treasures that you will find !
Thank you all for supporting us .. it is most certainly not an easy time to be holding the reins of an independent shop supporting local people.. but we can keep our head above water for now - but trust that every single purchase, no matter how small (in situ or over at craftmongers.com), every like, share, comment (and Google review !- feels a little outdated but honestly it really does help us get on to the radar!) .. means the absolute world to us ! 🙏💜💜💜
I'm finally ( ) taking the plunge into opening a mini Craftmongers shop (cabin) in my homeland of Cornwall ! Years in the making and my imagination .. but it couldn't be more perfect and I have the support and fire of Sophie & Ellie Sophie Marsden | Handmade nature jewellery and Eleanor Russell-Hsieh plus the most incredible location surrounded by forests and just a few short minutes from my wild and wondrous moor ! .. anyway, more to say about that very soon ! .. What beautiful weather we have been having here in little old Ashburton. ☀️🌸

Our living window has been loving the sunshine as much as we have- especially the sweet peas!

It’s Rosie here, 👋 just taking over the grid for a moment to shower our wonderful Jodi with some birthday love and appreciation. 🎂♥️🎂

Jodi is our mama monger. Since the start of 2025 Jodi has been running our beautiful shop from behind the scenes, as well as raising her little, adventurous Rew - who was born at the same time she took over the reigns here. She’s a real super human.

It’s been incredible to witness how has bountifully been fed and watered by Jodi’s beautiful and wild soul, ever since she first brought the shop into being back in 2019 alongside and later (both of whom stepped back in 2025 to pursue their other many creative passions and projects).

Of course Craftmongers has a soul of its own, a garden nurtured by many hands and pollinated by all of you lovely beings. 🌻 But I know there would be no garden here to tend without our wonderful Jodi.

I here are some of Jodi’s own words you can find on our website-

“I have learnt so much in these past few years, particularly about the importance of art and heritage crafts- how the people that practise their gifts and callings, that share them, teach them, write about them, these people are incredibly humbling and brave, and are a leading light to follow in a world that has often felt so very out of touch with our natural native roots. I feel deeply moved by the creative community that continues to grow around us and I am honoured to be able to support them, and privileged to have their faith and enthusiasm in return. The love for the shop and the work of our makers is overwhelming and beautiful, and fuels us to keep doing what we do. All of our treasures are handmade, forged, and imagined from the stories and dreams of the person that made them, stories that will be carried through the generations in the hands that cherish them, and by those inspired to pick up tools, brushes and pens and begin their own. Welcome to the weekend everyone.. and marvellous May ! How did that happen ?! Our cup is feeling full .. Overflowing even.. with an influx of new creative talent - lovely new makers including and and hundreds of new books from all of our favourite publishers .. Ohh and don't forget the plants ! We have been overjoyed by the response to our magical new houseplant jungle !! Thank you to every single one of you that hunted us down this week already - some traveling many miles and sharing so much appreciation for all that we do here it really does mean the world to us ! We are hosting the incredible author on the 22nd of May at to launch her new book 'Ripening'. We have all of Sharon's magical titles available in the shop and online, and could not recommend her work more highly. Magical, insightful, otherworldly, and undeniably necessary - books that encourage the imagination to unfurl and for myths and stories to be conjured and called upon. We hope to see you there ! We have so many exciting new things to share with you !! How about we start with this .. Our very own little jungle here in the shop ! That's right plant lovers 🌿 we've teamed up with the lovely Paul just over the bridge in Cornwall to bring you the finest and most beautiful indoor plants ! Nestled comfortably in coir pots from 💜✨
We hope that you'll enjoy stepping into this new space as much as we do. The shop is feeling alive and spirited at every turn - hundreds of new books and some wonderful new makers have joined us (more about them soon!)..
