π π SHOES, SHOES, SHOESβ¦ LET'S TALK DANCE SHOES!
So many people ask me what shoes I wear when I'm out dancing, so I thought it would be a good topic for discussion! β€οΈ
Over the years, I've gone from dance sandals to, more recently, teacher training dance shoes.
As someone who competes in 2.5-inch heels, I'm quite comfortable dancing in them!
However, when it comes to country dancing, it's a slightly different story. The floors aren't always maintained to the same standard as ballroom floors, and then there's the little matter of getting your toes stood on! And I'm not just talking about the person you're dancing with, I've had many a boot or stilleto injuryππ
π All my dance shoes have suede soles(when competing we only compete in suede sole), which make turning so much easier. Just remember, they're for indoor use only, which is why you'll see me arriving in one pair of shoes and changing when I get there!
If you prefer not to have to change your shoes then 'stage' shoes are a popular alternative I see alot of people wearing.
Thankfully, there are now some great online shops selling these types of shoes at really reasonable prices. My Latin and Ballroom competition shoes are a different story, though β they certainly don't come at the same prices! ππ
For me, comfort is key. When I'm out dancing, I can easily be on the floor for four hours straight, so the right shoes make a huge difference!
Now, I'm curiousβ¦ π€π
π What shoes do you wear when you're out dancing?
π£ What's most important to you β comfort, support, style or being able to turn easily?
Let's get chatting and share our experiences β you might just help someone else find their perfect dancing shoes! πβ€οΈ
π Over to you, dancers! What are you wearing on your feet? π
PS, men please participate also, I know an awful lot of men wear 'tang' boots, leather sole is key and for social dancers male ballroom shoes with suede sole is a favourite.
