Mark O'Neill is an Edinburgh based actor currently flailing through life because he doesn't know how to do anything else. Born at a young age, Mark joined several youth theatre groups from the age of 9 and it stuck. He's performed with Capital Theatres and Strange Town, but most recently has been finding work as a freelance cabaret performer.

As the daughter of two liberal Pakistani academics it was expected I would follow in their footsteps, and I did. Pharmacist with three degrees and a global award, 35 years in NHS. But my heart belonged in the Arts.
I am a writer, performer and producer passionate about diversity, equality, inclusion and accessibility. I share unheard stories from minority communities, deliver workshops and invite them to participate in the arts, on stage or as the audience. I use humour to engage, inspire and be a role model.
In 2003, I won The Scotsman Award for Communication for my short story. I returned to the creative world in 2010 as both a performer and writer.
Over the past 5 years I have written two short plays, three full plays and two full standup comedy shows as well as several short stories.
Alongside writing I am keen on creative engagement with local communities of colour and those who face barriers to accessing the arts. I deliver a range of workshops to these groups. My aim is to encourage them to play a bigger part in the arts.
I plan to be at the Edinburgh Fringe again this year. Look out for me.
