Shouting at the Postman

Shouting at the Postman A personal zine with stories, mail art, cult figures, reviews and recipes for some reason. Send me a message in Messenger for my new address.

A blog extension of a zine I started in 1995, with personal stories, travel stories, mail art and cult figures.

Some new collages in the “playing cards” series. With these, the grid grows out from fragments of completed collages arranged symmetrically. New pieces are added on top to complete the images.

Some new outgoing collages, using playing cards and copies of copies of older work.

New on the SATP blog, Finally some new stuff! While I had been sending out mail art during 2025, much of the mail wasn't documented. In my first post since last February, here finally are some new collages. Please note that if you want to send me mail, I am going to stop using my PO Box this year, so please message me for my home address.

A few more outgoing postcards, the new year brings new elements to my collages. When life gives you lemons (or in this case, chews up the toner on your cardstock) you spray them with clear coat and cut them up into something new.

A couple of new outgoing postcards for lucky mail artists! Slowly getting the word out about my new address.

Sadly, in 2026 I have to leave PO Box 101 behind after 27 years because the post office has decided to charge $235/year, and it goes up every year. When I first got the box, it was $28/year. Since I haven’t been participating as much in mail art, I can’t justify that expense any more. Instead, I will give out my home address to people who request it in Messenger.

New on the SATP Blog: some 30th Anniversary Postcards! January, 2025 marked the 30th anniversary of Shouting at the Postman and I have created a series of postcards to mark the occasion. Each postcard is one-of-a-kind, with faces from issues of the zine and cult figures, remixed and mashed up, plus a special guest. Check them out!

Some new 30th anniversary collages featuring some familiar faces from past issues mashed up, and one face that was never shown in the zine. Can you guess which one?

Scanning some old issues of S@TP, and I realized that this month marks the 30th anniversary of my little experiment in writing and publishing. Thanks, everyone, for reading, and enjoy this photo of the rare first edition, which was actually terrible. But, fortunately, my zine got a little better over the 10 years I was actively publishing it on paper. Now the website is mainly an outlet for my mail art, but I always hope to get back to writing again. Maybe when I retire…
