OPEN CALL-OUT

Do you sing in your church choir?
Did you take part in your school plays?
Are you part of a drama group?
Have you ever watched a play or a musical and thought “Wonder if I could do that?”

If so, read on!

The Girls of Cartridge Hut No. 7 are looking for enthusiastic individuals (age 16+) with an interest in theatre and / or local history to join our Community Spoken Chorus to help tell the story of Alfred Nobel and his Ardeer Factory.

Interested?

Playing Dynamite workers, soldiers and chemists, you will be an integral part of the Production: we can promise you an interesting, enjoyable and rewarding experience. Singing ability would be good but is not a deal-breaker: neither is acting ability – you will be trained by our experience Community Chorus Manager, Ross MacFarlane. You will not be required to “learn your lines” either so please don't worry about that.

TIME COMMITTMEMT: rehearsals begin on Tuesday 8th March in Saltcoats Town Hall at 7pm and will continue, weekly until the end of April. The play runs 2nd - 7th May with TWO performances daily (2pm matinee and 7pm evenings) NB Thursday 5th May is your “day off” to go and vote) Attendance at AT rehearsals is a must: there will an all-day Tech / Dress Rehearsal on Sunday 1st May (buffet dinner provided).

We can't pay you, I'm afraid, but you will receive:-

TWO free tickets for friends / family for the matinee of your choice plus an invitation to our Wrap Party, following the final performance.

The chance to work with professional actors and an exciting Creative Team including internationally-renowned Director Mary McCluskey, Costume-designer Finlay McLay (“Batgirl” and “Outlander”) and Musical Director Hilary Brooks (“Sunshine on Leith”)

The opportunity to be part of an event which will showcase our area's rich heritage to the rest of Scotland.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED: email Ross on [email protected], PM me or just turn up on Tuesday 8th March, 7pm at Saltcoats Town Hall. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring water.

Come on...you KNOW you want to:)
