Altrincham Garrick Society was founded in 1913 and has been in operation continually since. A brief history of the society can be found on our website here: http://www.altrinchamgarrick.co.uk/about-the-theatre/history/

Our facilities include: a state of the art, 400-seat proscenium arch theatre as well as a 50-seat fully equipped studio theatre. We also have professional front of house services

including: full time box office; bar; kiosk and substantial car-parking. On the whole the operation is run by volunteers, with a team of paid staff. We also operate Garrick Academy of Performing Arts, a venture giving young people a foundation in the disciplines of performance. We stage at least twelve full scale, in-house productions each season in the main house and a number of smaller scale productions in the studio theatre. Our productions include dramas, musicals, pantomime and comedy. We also have a thriving group of amateur visiting societies, who hire the theatre to stage their own productions. Additionally, we commercially hire out the facilities to professional touring productions and for corporate purposes.

What a smashing, positively dashing finale to the 2025/2026 Altrincham Garrick Season - Lerner and Loewe’s classic rags to riches tale, MY FAIR LADY.

MY FAIR LADY follows Eliza Doolittle, a cockney flower seller in Covent Garden, who by chance meets phonetics professor, Henry Higgins. As part of a wager with a fellow phonetician, Higgins sets out to teach Eliza how to speak like a lady of high society – but learns a few lessons of his own along the way.

Filled with comedy, romance, and dazzling songs such as The Rain in Spain, Wouldn’t It Be Loverly and I Could Have Danced All Night, this will be an unmissable production.

A beautiful musical adaptation of George Bernard Shaw’s 1913 play PYGMALION, MY FAIR LADY was first performed on Broadway in 1956 starring Julie Andrews and adapted into a 1964 Oscar-winning film starring Audrey Hepburn.

It’s going to be bloomin’ loverly!

But as exams approach and pressures rise, real brutality emerges from behind their playful barbs. And soon there is nothing left but violence.

Join us at the Altrincham Garrick for two exciting weeks of theatrical fun for ages 6–18!

✨ Perform in a special Friday showcase on our Main Stage for family and friends

Each week features different activities and projects, meaning students can join either week as a standalone experience or attend both weeks for an even bigger theatrical adventure!

No previous experience is necessary – everyone is welcome. Our friendly team creates a supportive environment where young people can explore their creativity, develop new skills and, most importantly, have fun.
