I was so pleased to meet the couple who bought my painting which was on display at the Freedom Through Expression Art Gallery in Alton yesterday. It really is lovely to know that my painting will brighten someone’s home and hopefully brighten peoples lives as well.

As part of this year’s Hampshire Open Studios , we are delighted to welcome the renowned artist Tom Yendell for a special live painting session.

Tom paints entirely using his mouth and feet, producing wonderfully vibrant, expressive work with remarkable skill and fluidity. It is a brilliant opportunity to watch an artist at work, observe his unique technique up close, and see a new piece unfold in real time.

Meet our spotlight artist: Pooja Kulkarni ✨

Based in Alton, Hampshire, Pooja Pooki Art🌻 is a self-taught artist whose colourful, story-led illustrations turn everyday scenes into heartfelt visual narratives. With an eye for the quiet beauty around us, she draws inspiration from daily life, travel moments, cozy cafes, and the subtle emotions and interactions that often go unnoticed.

Welcome to see ART by ROB TRENT
Robert Trent was born with arthrogryposis, a condition affecting the joints and muscular development. From the age of 6 he attended Chailey Heritage Special School where he was taught to be as independent as possible and where he first developed an interest in art, encouraged by an early tutor who recognised his potential.

However, painting took a back seat as Rob excelled at academic subjects and was determined to achieve the qualifications that would enable him to be financially independent. After gaining aBSc in Information Systems Rob began working for Ordnance Survey in Southampton and began painting again in his spare time.

Rob joined the MFPA as a Student member in 1998 and was delighted to see one of his paintings of the Houses of Parliament chosen as a Christmas card image.

In 2021 Rob became a full Member Artist. Rob took early retirement from Ordnance Survey in June 2018 and is now free to devote as much time as possible to his painting. Rob is married to Kim and the couple have a daughter, Yasmin.

Rob has developed a distinctive style that is especially suited to landscapes. Rob drives his own specially adapted vehicle from his wheelchair allowing Kim and Rob to travel further afield in search of inspirational landscapes to paint.

We are honoured to invite you to a truly special art exhibition featuring the remarkable British landscape Mouth painter Rob Trent Rob Trent at Freedom Through Expression Gallery Freedom Through Expression Gallery

Born with arthrogryposis, a condition affecting joints and muscular development, Rob’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience, passion, and the liberating force of creativity.

His artistic spark was first ignited at the age of 6 at Chailey Heritage Special School, where an early tutor recognised his potential. While Rob initially pursued an academic path—earning a BSc in Information Systems and working for Ordnance Survey in Southampton—painting remained his lifelong calling.

In 1998, Rob joined the MFPA as a Student member, and was thrilled when one of his paintings of the Houses of Parliament was chosen as a Christmas card image. He became a full Member Artist in 2021. After taking early retirement from Ordnance Survey in June 2018, Rob now devotes all his time to painting.
Together with his wife Kim and daughter Yasmin, Rob travels in his specially adapted vehicle to capture breathtaking natural landscapes. His distinctive, expressive style brings the beauty of the British countryside vividly to life on canvas.
