Finished! I really love fresh cane on darker furniture it pops so beautifully.
It's been good for me to work today on this
A day of chilling tomorrow and then week two of Madness 🍊🍊🍊
So I've sold out, next door Cobbles Cafe has sold out, has sold out & has sold out !!!
Crikey Doo! I better get a wriggle on and get chopping those Sevilles 🍊🍊🍊 2026 traditional marmalade .

So after week one of madness for a mega order 🍊🍊🍊🍊 preserves.
I'm back in my workshop a customers gorgeous antique rocking chair
Very calming for me to wind down and get ready to do it all again next week. 150 jars done - 150 to go!
Who else has a crazy mix of jobs??
The very best concoction I know about was right here in Alston Cumbia, the local coal man was also the Ice cream man 🍦 in summertime 🌞 how fabulous 🤩

While two batches of marmalade simmered away for a massive order at , 2 days down and 6 more to go....
Plus a fantastic new stockist is on the horizon in for my preserves, more news on that soon ☺️ but you will know where to go if you knead some...🥖🍞

So, a few of you *might* have heard that my 2026 Double Gold Winning Stokoe House 1611 Traditional Seville Orange marmalade is now stocked in Fortnum & Mason omg omg omg.

Husband and I got the chance to see my jars in the iconic shop in London, and we took some very classy photos..🤣 luckily lots of amazing friends have been in to see my jars and taken much smarter photos - thank you!!

Update......and they've just asked for more 🍊🍊!!

You won't hear from me for the next two weeks as I'll be in my kitchen chopping, stirring & boiling 🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊

You don't get like these from the supermarket, these are Alston Moor Gooseberries.
I put locally grown fruit in every batch of jam I make, when I run out that's it until next year.
I've got a dwindling stash of these in my 4 freezers 🥶, but not long now until I'm out picking them again with Ed the farmer.

What can I say but 'wow'
Cobbles Cafe thank you for the delicious food for my day course today.
They supplied all this and two 'posh' drinks each, and it's all included in my day cane course.

What a weekend!!!!
We went to to be awarded my Double Gold certificate for my Traditional Seville Orange Marmalade from the High Sheriff of Cumbria 🏆🧡🏆, and met so many lovely marmalade makers, great to put faces to the brands I follow, and who have helped me recently with that "big order" 😉
The sun shone all day and it was just a shame I couldn't be there again on Saturday representing my winning jars, as I was booked to teach to two lovely ladies.
Lovely food and coffees brought to us from Cobbles Cafe next door, and both ladies thoroughly enjoyed the day... even when the cane was misbehaving!
Time today to paint our front door and deal with the online Marmalade orders!!!!

At last after 2 years of and worrying about the wonky loo in the old shop, wobbly stairs, and nearly everything irrelevant to actually today I did my first day course with a fabulous lady who absolutely loved the day.
We had gorgeous food provided from the cafe next door Cobbles Cafe , and a really nice time chatting, weaving and sorting the world out.

You'll be dead cuffed you did, and it's very rewarding.
