📣 Avian - The Marquee

Avian are a rock and alternative band from Crewe, Cheshire, fronted by a proudly Welsh singer and back on stage after reforming following a short break due to career changes.

Blending popular rock, pop and alternative favourites from the last few decades with a growing catalogue of original material, the band bring energetic, nostalgic sets packed with crowd-pleasing moments and songs they proudly describe as “bangers” of their own!

Close friends on and off stage, Avian pride themselves on strong chemistry, a genuine passion for live music and performances built to get the crowd singing along. Having played festivals around their singer’s hometown of Wrexham alongside venues across Cheshire and Staffordshire, the band are excited to use Alsager Music Festival as the perfect platform to announce their return.

📣 Matthew Frederick - The Sunken Garden

With numerous television, radio and festival appearances across the UK, Europe and USA, Matthew Frederick has built an acclaimed career as a solo musician, frontman of Cymrucana pioneers Climbing Trees and one half of indie-folk duo Hazel & Grey. Across five albums, two EPs and seventeen singles, his journey has included performances with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, recording sessions at London’s legendary Maida Vale Studios, airplay across BBC Introducing, Radio 1 and 6 Music, and a Welsh Music Prize nomination.

Following the release of his critically acclaimed solo album Fragments via Staylittle Music, Autumn 2025 sees Frederick return with forthcoming single and long-time live favourite ‘Obsolete’ — his first solo release in five years — alongside a run of shows across Wales.

Praised by Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1 as “So good… So beautiful… So pretty”, described by New Sound Wales as “one of Wales’ finest songwriters and performers”, and hailed by Fresh On The Net as transporting listeners “to another world”, Matthew Frederick continues to earn acclaim for his emotive songwriting and atmospheric soundscapes.

📣 DJ Shrike - The Concrete Stage!!

With more than 20 years behind the decks, Danny Jones — better known as DJ Shrike — brings the harder edge of dance music to every set with high-energy performances rooted in rave culture and underground sounds. Having grown up immersed in the scene, he has travelled across the UK attending festivals and performing at underground events for In-Ter-Dance.

Over the years, DJ Shrike has supported respected names including Nicky Blackmarket, DJ Hype and Hibernate, while also performing at Psytrance nights at The Box and holding a residency with the Grey Noize Soundsystem.
