What’s our next play about?

Morning's at Seven is a bittersweet American comedy by Paul Osborn that explores the suppressed frustrations and longings of four aging sisters living in a small Midwestern town. Over the course of a weekend, long-simmering family tensions erupt when a perpetually engaged son decides to finally bring his fiancée home.

The play explores themes of family, unspoken secrets, and the tension between personal desires and familial obligations. As the sisters, who live in close proximity and have shared lives for decades, confront their unfulfilled dreams and hidden resentments.

A busy day in Rothbury, Jubilee Hall today as rehearsals for our next play are well underway. We are bringing “Morning’s at Seven” by Paul Osbourne to Rothbury, Embleton and Warkworth from 1-4 July. Tickets can be purchased by emailing [email protected] and will also be available in some local venues shortly. More details will follow

We are delighted that The Portable Theatre Company production of The Odd Couple did so well at this years NODA awards. Tracey Bell was nominated for best individual performance in our district🤩 Diane Maughan was nominated for best individual for the North region 🤩 and we won Best Drama in the North region 🏆 So great to see the hard work of our Director, cast and backstage crew recognised 👏
