Alnwick Theatre Club

Alnwick Theatre Club We are a vibrant theatre club staging three productions each year; two plays and a panto.

The Alnwick Theatre Club was established in 1949, so we have now been in existence for over 60 years, and our members are extremely proud that we are the longest established amateur theatrical group in the town. Our members are aged over 19+ with no upper limit and a friendly troupe yet we always welcome new members who wish to offer their skills from being centre stage to helping behind the scene

s. Rehearsals are on Mondays and most Thursdays yet we still find time for some social activities with a summer BBQ and the occasional party.

Treasure Island:The Panto received a mention on Radio Two yesterday! Many thanks and congratulations to committee member Sally Miller who was featured in the Jeremy Vine show and although talking about a memorial bench she did not forget to promote our production. Sally’s feature is 1.40 into the attached link if you missed it. The show opens on Saturday 21 January and runs for a week with tickets available from the Alnwick Playhouse box office now.

‘Danny, Champion of the World’ ended on a resounding high with a near full house once again yesterday evening. Huge appreciation to all who came along to the Alnwick Playhouse during this past week, made themselves heard and gave us such a successful run for this production. ‘Super’, ‘Can I see it again Mummy?’, ‘What a star’ and ‘A triumph’ were just some of the comments overheard above the smiles and laughter as the audience vacated the foyer. Thank you to everyone.
