This time last week, Cymera Festival creator's hall was kicking off for the weekend!

I have had the chance to table at Cymera for 3 years now and it's the only event I have gotten pictures of myself with my table each year so it's become a little small biz image diary almost?

Each year has come with its own challenges and looking back and seeing how far I've come/how I've improved my table fills me with pride.

2024: Still working out doing more events and improving my set up (I did 5 events total in 2024, I will be doing 3 times that amount in 2026 😅) though I still had a lot of bulky things like the wooden easels that were a pain to pack and carry haha.
2025: the first time I did a table set up where I wouldn't be stood behind the table. It took a lot of on the fly change of plans but I'm still pretty proud of how well it turned out.
2026: Trying to fit everything I have now on a 4ft this year was a CHALLENGE. It's not my favourite set up but I do think I see growth from previous years. I do think I may need to seriously consider applying for a larger table next year but at least I know I can just about make it still fit on a 4ft 😂 (though we'll see what else I come out with this year and see how much it changes again in that time 😂)

I love doing Cymera and I had so many highlights from this weekend, including people who had just been to Book Lovers Bookshop and bought my pins from there and being delighted to see I made MORE pins 😭💜 and being able to catch up with so many people and chatting to my fellow table mates and meeting so many new people! I talk the most at Cymera and I'm always hella inspired afterwards 💜 I love it. (Was it perfect? No but no event is and it was an improvement from last year so I'm remaining positive!)

This weekend I will be back to sell at one of my favourite events: 💜

I will have as much with me as I can fit on my table (minus anything old fandom, I don’t bring them to most events now) so you can expect to see lots of my enamel pins, stickers, keyrings, magnets, prints & bookshelf markers!

There are SO MANY good talks and workshops going on this weekend, worth every penny! And even if there aren’t that many talks you are in to, it costs NOTHING to come visit creators hall, which is open 10am-5pm Saturday and Sunday 😜 There is also the free/pay what you can Cymera Games space, the festival bookshop (I’m gonna be so broke this year buying books haha) and lots of other delightful events scattered throughout! And if you can’t make it to Cymera in person, you can still watch the talks live online, go check out the website for more information!

TW: Loss

Hey everyone, I’m going to be out of office til Monday 25th, so email responses will be delayed and no shop orders will be dealt with while I am gone.

Thought I’d make a new out of office image to post, I think it’s quite cute. Those hands were a friggin’ nightmare though, I dunno why I decided to do this to myself after not drawing much the last couple weeks 😅

I am travelling to attend a family funeral so I will not be physically in my office to be able to do anything like pack shop orders etc.

Books I read in April! (Better late than never, classic me haha)

All Superheroes need PR by Elizabeth Stephens - 4.25 stars - This was HILARIOUS! If you are looking for a fun fast paced alien romance then this is for you!
The Impossible Garden of Clara Thorne - 4.5 stars - I am a sucker for a good q***r witchy story and this did not disappoint. I love a story about the journey as much as about the final destination.
Floating Hotel - 4 stars - I was given this a while ago and decided to pick it up on a whim as it’s not a long book. At first I was a little confused moving around all the characters of the hotel but once it hit the halve way point, I saw how clever this book really was and really enjoyed it!

Storygraph reading challenge - Diverse Romance Tropes Challenge 2026. Every month we are given a trope and have to pick a BIPOC or LGBTQIAP+ (or both!) book to read with that trope.

April trope: Opposites Attract. Book: All Superheroes need PR by Elizabeth Stephens. (For those with a good memory, this is NOT the book I had planned to read for this month’s trope challenge. I did actually DNF my original pick 🫣)
May trope: Secret Identity. Book: Next Level Love by Shameez Patel. (I have actually already this in May and so far it is the only book I’ve read in May 🫠)
