The Dales Duo is a violin duet based in the Derbyshire Dales. The Duo is comprised of Verity Hill and Peter Rastall, who will provide the perfect musical accompaniment for your wedding, function, party or special occasion. Both musicians have a wide range of musical experience and expertise having played the violin and viola from a young age. Verity and Peter are alumni of the Peak District String
Orchestra and Derbyshire County Youth Orchestra and have played in chamber quartets for a number of years. Verity was a member of Pro Corda - an organisation which is recognised as the UK’s centre of excellence for ensemble training from the age of ten. She has also won music scholarships for Sheffield High School Sixth Form and for Reading University. Whilst at Reading University, Verity led the viola section of The University of Reading Symphony Orchestra and led the resident quartet at the University which performed at many weddings, functions and special occasions. Peter has played violin since an early age, and has played in multiple orchestras including the Bangor University Symphony, Bangor Early Music Ensemble and the prestigious Sheffield Symphony. Peter is also a proficient pianist and enjoys playing many styles of music, his particular favourite bring baroque. The Dales Duo work to your requirements, performing a range of classical, baroque and popular repertoire. Some examples are: Pachelbel's Canon, The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, Greenselves, Ode to Joy, Hornpipe in D, Largo from Vivaldi's Winter, Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring as well as many more. We can also play special requests and music from a range of different periods of time, cultures and genres. Our duet can perform almost anywhere, both inside and outside (weather dependant) and we offer affordability compared to string quartets, due to there being two musicians. We have the capacity to perform as a violin duet, or a violin and viola duet and we can expand to form a quartet if needed. Please contact Verity or Peter for further information and prices.
