Waylandcraft will be at Riddings Park Community Centre - RPCC. tomorrow for the Bespoke Village Crafts Spring Fair.
☆☆ And... the most exciting thing... everything for sale is handmade by the very gifted makers of the Bespoke Village Crafts Group.

Pop along & say hello... It'd be lovely to see you & it's a great place to pickup a few gifts for the special people in your life!

Interesting... as someone who's just done a collaborative community make session with The Ripple Effect. I can wholeheartedly say you're missing something amazing if you've never tried it. I'm certainly going to try booking onto the 'women who make' session.

I've only just joined what I thought was a lovely supportive crochet group & sadly I'm leaving after just a few days!

I'm sorry to say it had too many 'scam' posts... to feel a 'safe-environment'.

These posts are designed to 'harvest' ['farm'] details from group members who connect & comment with a genuine interest in the work displayed on a post, but without realising its a 'stolen'/'cloned' 'scam-post'. The idea behind stealing a post & reposting it under a 'scam-profile' is about grabbing the responders details.

This is occurring in far too many fb groups atm... be careful what you join!

I want to believe group Admin's are trying their level best. And, I'm also aware the 'scammers' probably reappear as fast as they’re removed.

BEWARE ANY PUBLIC GROUP IS A RISK FOR CONTAINING 'SCAM-PROFILES.

A group can add a simple questionnaire to help filter out the 'criminals'.

Leaving a group public & without a questionnaire makes it easy for the 'scammers'... (or... is that the intention all along!?)

Lecture over & good luck, at least you know what to watch out for.

The Wool Lady please message me m'dear... you're in the group I'm talking about x

That was a fun afternoon... meeting lots of lovely creative people at The Ripple Effect in Swanwick.

Thank you to everyone who looked after me & made cups of tea... & the cakes were fabulous!!

We were working on a theme of oceans, & considering the environmental impact of today's lifestyles on how we view it.

But really we had wide ranging natters & enjoyed being productively creative in the company of other women.

The individual pieces will be worked together to create a wearable work of art about oceans.

So many ends... argh!!

But at least when I get stuck-in to the job it becomes quite a zen activity.

I do very occasionally make clothes in crochet for myself. And, I often receive lots of lovely comments whenever I wear one of my garments.

My creations are all made... 'organically'... I don't use patterns, I design as I make. And, this means there can never really be a 'commercial' value I find realistically reflects the hours & weeks of creativity which each unique garment represents. Whenever I've been asked, & have suggested a price I've usually received mutterings about a certain Chinese bulk selling site being a whole lot cheaper. Yep, I totally agree. But we're not comparing like-for-like on this.

The mini granny square 'ribbon' is the beginnings of the lower 'body'... it's a 'bridging' piece from the arm, front & back panels to cover the hips in the creation of a longer cardigan or spring coat. I'll post progress pics as I go but this little lot has taken a couple of weeks so far.
