Calling all Spinners!

October is the start of a new session of the Woolly Spinning Club.
Each month I prepare boxes with 2 x 50g of carefully chosen fibre, usually combed tops, and either post it out to members or keep it in the shop for them to collect.

I’m keeping the price the same as the previous 6 months, £65.00 for fibre and an additional £28.50 if you would like it posted out to you.

I’d a lovely day at Portsoy yesterday, and met up with several people who supply Woolly Woolly with beautiful wool 😊. (Also bought a couple of sneaky wee skeins of Aran from Bunloit Woolery - shhh, don’t tell anyone🤫).

Alford Planters

I think one of the people who look after the beautiful flower planters has left their fork - in the planter outside Woolly Woolly👍.

I’ve been a member of GGWSD for many years, so I’m going to bring my first ever pop-up shop to their open day on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October!🥳🥳

There will be demonstrations of various forms of spinning and weaving, and much more to see - a brilliant chance to meet up with people and chat about craft skills - and maybe have a go yourself😊.

Unfortunately this means that Woolly Woolly will have to close at 1.00pm on Friday 2nd October, and will be closed all day Saturday 3rd. Come out to Chapel O’Garioch and say hello!

I’d like to introduce you to a new feature in Woolly Woolly - Guest Wool 🧶.

The featured Guest Wools will only be available for a short time - and when they’re gone, they’re gone.

It’s going to allow me to search out some unusual wool, support more small businesses, and give my customers the chance of getting something special. So win-win-win!

The very first Guest Wool is from local business Westfield Croft😊.

The natural coloured 2ply DK wool is a gorgeous mix of alpaca/gotland with a beautiful soft and luxurious handle. (The alpaca used in the fleece are guardians for local lambs🦙🐑.)

The cream 1ply lopi-style wool is a Boreray/Shetland mix, with a lovely soft handle, and is also undyed.

Also available are ingenious patterns for a cowl/hat, knitted in plain, textured or cable design. These patterns use a single skein of DK wool.
