As always, I'm getting dozens of band applications every day, for Alfold next year. I've got plenty to think about - all aspects of the festival - not to mention A New Day Festival at the moment, so I won't be making any more announcements, or booking any more bands, for a while.
I will say, however, that after much badgering, I have finally nailed The Zac Schulze Gang for next year. Hurrah!

Now that the dust has settled on what I, and apparently most of you, think was the best Alfold yet, my thoughts turn to A New Day Festival next month.

For clarification, the idea for an Alffold Ffffolk FFFFestival is just that, an idea. Possibly a stupid idea, but I've had those before and they worked out reasonably well. But IF it happens, and it's a big IF, we are looking at, maybe, September next year. So please, Fer Folk's sake, don't start applying to play 🤣 I've got another Alfold Rock and Blues Festival and TWO A New Day Festivals to sort out before that...

It has been interesting to read the many posts regarding what is Rock and what is Blues. Some people complaining there was/is too much blues, others, too much rock. The truth is, almost everything is a little of both.
Alfold Rock and Blues used to be 'Blues On The Farm'. I changed it partly to reflect the rock content, but mostly because it ain't on a farm now 🤣
I guess 'music festival', or simply 'festival' might have sufficed, but I think Rock & Blues gives a pretty good idea of what we are about, even if I do like to throw in the occasional googly. Variety really is the spice of life, and music.
With that in mind, we have been discussing, for a long time now, the possibility of launching a little folk festival at the same site. We like the idea - what do you guys think?
Naturally we would still get the "too much / not enough Folk-rock" comments, but the biggest drawback I can see is that Alfold Folk Festival has too many 'F's in it...

I just want to say a quick ‘Thank you’ for the hundreds of messages and emails from you guys, with unanimously (so far!) positive feedback from the weekend. It means so much to know that you love it so much ❤️
Apologies if I’ve not yet replied, but I’ve got a lot on at the moment; settling up the bills for Alfold, and preparing for A New Day Festival in just a few weeks… eek!
The good news is that, with just a few more invoices to come in, the Alfold bank account is quite likely to come in at £0.00. That might not seem like a result, but believe me, it is! We live to fight another day. Even better news, between us we raised £1500 for our designated charity, Young Lives v Cancer. Let’s hope we can do the same, or even better, next time 🤞
Meanwhile, I have already booked most of the bands for next year, just waiting to hear from others. It’s going to be good!
