MUSICIANS SIGN UP OPEN 9th March at 7pm online for the next Symphony in a Day which will take place on Saturday 17th October 2026 at St Peter's Church, Inkberrow, Worcestershire.
What’s not to love? A whole symphony brought to life in a single day, surrounded by fellow musicians, great repertoire, and the buzz of a full orchestra coming together.
This time we’re celebrating the remarkable musical family of F***y and Felix Mendelssohn. Not only siblings, but both extraordinary composers. In their time, women were rarely encouraged to publish or promote their music, and sadly F***y Mendelssohn only heard a small number of her works performed before her death. Her brother Felix believed strongly in her talent and helped champion her music.
So on this Symphony in a Day we’ll be bringing that spirit forward by performing F***y Mendelssohn’s powerful Overture in C Major, alongside Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No.1, written when he was just 15 years old. Youthful energy, brilliant writing, and music that sparkles from start to finish.
Bookings are by instrument, so please make sure you choose the correct ticket when signing up. Some sections, especially woodwind and brass, have limited spaces.
Violinists… we need lots of you! Please book early and commit so we can create that truly lush, epic string sound.
We’d also love to see younger musicians (Grade 5 and above) join us. This day is about inspiring the next generation of orchestral players.
Music teachers – if you have students who would jump at the chance to play in a symphony orchestra, encourage them to sign up… and perhaps even share a music stand with them for the day!
A full orchestra, a day of music-making, and a celebration of two brilliant composers. Come and be part of it. 🎶
