Another SOLD OUT night for When We Were Young last night as the troops took over Harbour Arts Centre in Irvine! 🎭
We had an absolutely brilliant night with you all, and the feedback has already been coming in thick and fast!

This was my third time seeing this brilliant play, and honestly, I’d go back and see it again in a heartbeat.
It’s a story about knife crime and gang culture in Glasgow, and what makes it so powerful is the way it manages to take you through so many emotions. There were moments when I was absolutely howling with laughter 😂, but then it would suddenly hit you with something so sad, moving and heartbreaking that it really stayed with you.
The cast were fantastic, and the whole production was incredibly powerful. It tackles such a serious and important subject while still bringing plenty of humour, warmth and humanity to the story.
Three times seeing it and it still had the same impact , that says everything! 👏❤️
If you get the chance to see When We Were Young, go and see it! You’ll laugh, you might cry, and you’ll definitely leave thinking & talking about it long after the curtain comes down (although no curtain in The HAC 😂😂😂)

🌟 Just home.....OMG .... what a night....what an emotional rollercoaster i wasnt ready for. Laughed soooo much, so sad. Best thing me n my hubby seen in ages. The humour was just outragious and what actors they all were!! This deserves to go VERY far! Even its own TV show! 👏👏👏👏

Such a real, raw and powerful story that I think so many people can resonate with, whether personally through things we’ve experienced ourselves or through situations we’ve witnessed happening around us.
The patter and comedy throughout were hilarious, and the characters were brilliant, but alongside the laughs were some very real and emotional moments. The outcomes really hit home and definitely move you in more ways than one.
This is an absolute must see. Not only is it fantastic entertainment, but there are some really important messages throughout. I genuinely think it’s very educational and something that a lot of our younger generation would benefit from seeing. 🙏🏻

🌟 I went with my friend tonight to see When We Were Young and was completely blown away. I haven't ever been to anything like this before. The actors were brilliant—every single member of the superb cast brought incredible raw energy and truth to the stage.The script is a perfect balance it is incredibly hard-hitting and emotional, yet handles its subject matter with fantastic wit, making it hilariously funny when you least expect it. It keeps you gripped from start to finish. Massive congratulations to the entire team and Geez A Break Productions—well done to all involved! Can't wait to read the book
