​What an absolute unforgettable weekend of contesting for the Abergavenny Borough Band! We had a long journey home following the weekend, after making our way triumphantly through the villages for Whit Friday 2026. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🎶

​The Pennine atmosphere was incredible. A massive thank you to everyone who lined the streets and cheered us on at every single stop—the warm welcome made every mile of the journey worth it! 🏆✨

🎺 Volunteer Week 🎺

As Volunteer Week comes to a close, we want to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers who give their time to support Abergavenny Borough Band. 💜

From our committee working tirelessly behind the scenes, to those helping at concerts and events, to our committed players who give their time week in week out.

A special thank you as well to our Musical Director, who goes above and beyond and plays such a huge role in bringing everything together.

Every performance, every full hall, every moment like this is built on the dedication of volunteers.

Thank you for helping bring people together and making the band such an important part of our town on and off the stand. 👏

🎺What a weekend!

From setting off from Abergavenny to our final notes at Huddersfield Town Hall, it’s been an unforgettable few days of music, memories and brilliant experiences.

We’ve taken in so much along the way from visiting Black D**e, to the incredible atmosphere of Whit Friday, performing across:

📍 Dobcross
📍 Delph
📍 Denshaw
📍 Southend
📍 Grotton
📍 Lydgate

A chance to recharge in Haworth, a fantastic evening concert at Boarshurst, and rounding it all off at the Black D**e Festival taking part in masterclasses and performing as part of the massed bands.

There have been so many highlights, from great audiences to those unexpected moments that make a tour so special.

A huge thank you to everyone who organised, hosted and supported us throughout we’ve had an amazing time 👏

And now it’s back to it we’re straight into rehearsal this evening, bringing everything we’ve taken from the weekend with us 🪊
