Tonight’s the night folks! So excited to be back.

A few things to mention (the long hand version of my boring but necessary risk assessment).

Firstly, we will be in the main theatre. Each place will be marked out on the floor and will have a chair on it. The first people there, please can you go to the furthest one on the floor? There are then a few places in the stalls and down the ramps. After filling up the floor area, please use the furthest seat in the stalls first and then choose the ramp seats last. I do ask that you stay in your seat and that you don’t move around the hall for the duration.

I will greet you from the stage steps, in front of me will be a table and on it you will find some music for you to pick up, some hand sanitizer for you to use, the cash box and the card reader. I’ll be there to assist with card payments. I will also need to take your name and telephone number for contact tracing; the track and trace QR code is by the table so please use that too if you have the app. If a queue forms please respect social distancing.

Mask-wearing. Apparently, the official recommendation is that people come in wearing their mask and then take it off once you are in your seat. However, I don’t know about you, but I’m not sure I feel ready to be in a room of people with no mask. So I ask that we all keep our masks on for now. We can reassess this going forward. I recommend using a surgical mask (not a home made one) for singing. I teach in them all day and they don’t impair much on the sound. I found the thicker material ones dampen my resonance quite a lot.

Please bring your own water/refreshments. Once we are allowed to mingle more then I will put on tea/coffee & cake/biscuits again. We will take a 5-10 minute break in the middle for toilet stops, obviously don’t all rush there at once, perhaps if just two go at the same time. Are we back in school again?! 😆

Please stick to these arrangements, and we will adapt as necessary going forward. We are very lucky that the Welsh Gov are allowing this, our counterparts in England are still not allowed to meet indoors. Let’s get it right.

We’re back singing again from this week! One session only for all ages 7:30pm-8:30pm on Tuesdays at the back of the Neuadd Dyfi. £2 pp. Weather dependant of course. Let’s get vocal!

Children more than welcome to join in for the 1st hour (7-8pm). I just ask that parents stay to help manage social distancing rules (you can even join in if you like!) Mostly new songs so a very new member friendly evening

Tomorrow we finally get to meet and sing!!!! Weather is still looking good although it may be on the chilly side so bring a jumper.

A few more details: you might like to bring a picnic chair/blanket if you’re not inclined to stand the whole time. We’ll meet on the green by the Neuadd Dyfi and then depending on numbers, we may move to the back of the Neuadd where there’s electricity. So if you’re late for whatever reason, and don’t see us on the green then you’ll know where to find us.

Please bring all of your music & words. I do have a new piece for us. I printed the words on Saturday so it will have been sat untouched for 72 hours. I’ll pop the words by the money tin, so please pick some up as you go past.

Stating the obvious, but if you are feeling at all unwell then please do not attend.

The outdoor sessions will be £2 as there’s no room charge to cover.

I will only be running the sessions on Tuesdays when the weather allows. Hopefully by the end of the summer we may be able to use the theatre to do a distanced sing...

First Glee Club session of 2020!!!! 21st July at 7pm in the green by the Neuadd Dyfi. Old members & new members welcome, young and old. More details to come over the weekend. Let’s hope for a sunny evening 🤞

Morning folks. I’m afraid this is the inevitable communication that Glee Club won’t be running for the foreseeable future. I’m sure this will be very disappointing for some of you, but I hope you can appreciate that we have quite a few older members who are more vulnerable to complications from corona virus. With me having been in and out of London, and as yet, with no plans in place to cancel our show, I feel this is the right decision.

It is my understanding that the government will be asking all people over 70 years of age to quarantine themselves for quite a prolonged period of time. With that in mind, I would like to put together some tracks/videos for folks who are interested to sing along with at home. Some of them will be the songs we have in mind for this year’s concert (assuming we’re can put it on at some point), and others will be for generic learning which I will also offer out to other local choirs who will have disbanded.

In the mean time, stay fit and healthy. Love to you all xx
