There's only 2 more weeks to catch The Attuning Zone by Maja Zeco.
This body of work has developed over the past two years as part of ‘Living with Energy Transition’ a collaborative project between the arts and social sciences. It began with a series of soundwalks - a practice of listening while walking – that took place at St Fittick’s Park in Torry, Aberdeen. St Fittick’s Park is a site partially earmarked for development as an energy transition zone despite the protests of the local community and activists.
Energy transition is the shift from fossil fuels to more renewable sources made necessary by the climate crisis. It is often presented as a pathway to a sustainable future, however, the places and spaces where energy transition unfolds uncover a more complex story - one where the promise of economic opportunity goes hand in hand with a reordering of environments, ways of knowing, and practices of care and belonging.
