Public Engagement at University of Aberdeen The Public Engagement with Research Unit (PERU) at the University of Aberdeen. Sessions run from January through to October and are free to attend.

PERU organises events and activities to support public engagement with research from across the University, this includes the regular Cafe Scientifique events. Our Cafe Scientifique Aberdeen City series takes place monthly in Waterstone's Union Bridge book store in Aberdeen's Union Street, usually around the middle Wednesday of the month. No booking is required and places are allocated on the firs

t-come basis. What's more, most events are free (though some require booking). All are pitched at a very accessible level and give ample time for audience questions and discussion.

Meghan Metcalf will be exhibiting 'MRI Re-imagined Through Tactility' at Gray’s School of Art Degree Show 2026 as part of her fine art's degree study, the collection explores tactility and conceptualisation of colour within scan data.

Meghan first connected with Dr Nicholas Senn at the IMS Open Doors Day 2025, and has collaborated with the IMS Medical Imaging Technologies Theme over the past year to acquire scans from different imaging technologies at both very low and high magnetic field strengths.

The Gray’s School of Art Degree Show is open between 6th – 14th June, weekdays 10:00 – 19:30, weekends 10:00 – 17:00. This year marks the 60th annual Degree Show, and forms part of the 140th anniversary celebrations of Gray’s School of Art.

The Gray’s Degree Show is an annual highlight in the calendar, celebrating the talent, creativity and achievements of our final year students.
