Blues Jam Aberdeen has found a new home ❤️

We're delighted to welcome Blues Jam Aberdeen to The Blue Lamp on Wednesday nights! We'll be starting up on Wednesday September 1st, it will run in our main performance space downstairs from 8pm - 12am! (Please note there is no Blues Jam on Wednesday 22nd September due to the Way WORD Festival!).

Full backline (including drumkit, guitar/bass, amps etc AND a Fender Rhodes Piano!) and sound engineer will be provided! 😎 We can't wait for the fun to begin!

Aberdeen Folk Club will take up residence in our upstairs performing space on Wednesday nights , stay tuned for announcements about their imminent return!

For what it’s worth not only did we shut well ahead of lockdown but we have remained closed throughout. 😂

Stay safe Aberdeen!

Looks like ourselves and Aberdeen’s music lovers won’t be the only ones getting fu**ed as a result of our closure now 😂 ...

“Members Club”

Former The Malt Mill could transform into a Wine Bar...with a HOT TUB and a SAUNA 😳🍷

According to the plans submitted to Aberdeen City Council, the ground floor of the former pub will serve as a wine bar, whereas the downstairs area will form a private space for members only.
The basement floor will include a steam room, a sauna, a hot tub, a changing room, a kitchen and a wine-tasting room 🍷🧖🏻‍♀️🍷

The Malt Mill on Holburn Street had remained empty since its closing in 2016

Plans have been lodged to create a wine bar in Aberdeen city centre. The proposals, if approved, would see the former Malt Mill pub turned into the new facility and four flats created. Launched by Cu***ng and Co on behalf of The Mill Ltd, the scheme includes a private tasting room and cellar space.…

The UK government needs to wake the f**k and do something other than lining their wallets before live music on a local level is destroyed.

We really do need the Agent Of Change to start being taken more seriously.

Thank You for the last 3 and half years.
Tomorrow we hand the keys back to the brewery.

It's been a blast. No regrets. x

So... Last night... The Last Night...
You guys were all incredible! Such a great audience and bunch of people and we are grateful that you all came to join us. It is a night we will never forget!

A huge thank you to all the bands: Depeche Choad, Terrordactyl, Dear John - Band, CAMPFIRES, Further On, Daydream Frenzy and Darth Elvis & The Imperials! Every single one of you played absolutely amazing! And I (Gav) am grateful to have been invited on stage with Dear John, Daydream Frenzy and Darth Elvis!

Also thanks to Matt Jolly Photography and Colin Wylie for all their help on the night and a special thanks to Colin Brennan from Before Stories who refused to let me do the door after covering me for Dear John!
And to everybody there, the love was 100% felt in the room!

The last 3 and bit years have been a bit crazy... we have seen so many amazing bands and watched so many bands go from strength to strength to get even better every time we seen them. A lot of you became friends, and have welcomed us into the scene with open arms and we will never forget that. Without you all we could never have done this.

One of our key nights was Blues Jam at the Malt Mill, every Wednesday we got the pleasure of showcasing some of the best players in Aberdeen and most of that was down to the hard work of Charlie B Goode, without him we certainly would not have made it this far.

The rest of the nights for the most part were organised by our amazing team of promoters who worked with us through all of this time and put so much effort into their shows... There are so many of you but you know who you are! And you know we f**king love you!

I could start tagging bands, people, promoters, and all that good stuff but the list would take forever. Just know we are thankful for you all.

Huge thanks to all the staff we had over the years who worked just as hard and sometimes harder to make sure we were always our best: A.P. Henderson, Calum Couzin, Badger, Phil Reid, Jay McDougall, Rachael Lewis, Holly Neill. And of course the two barman who stuck with us until the very end Adam Thomson and Levvie Brovvn (who was there from day 1!).

I imagine the pictures will be up soon... If this post didn't make as much sense as I thought it did it is because I am a bit of a zombie just now and tired from cleaning up the party, so the TL;DR version.

Thank you, We love you and Goodbye!
