Roots Rock Reggae

Roots Rock Reggae Recapturing Aberdeen's rich history of reggae culture. Aberdeen’s longest running reggae collective I think that about sums it up!!!

Roots Rock Reggae at Spin 10 Little John Street

In 1983 when the reggae club was held in St. Margarets (just across the road) the Blue Lamp provided the bar! So when I approached Sandy to see if we could hold it there he nearly bit my hand off!!! He said he really enjoyed those early reggae sessions and there was never any trouble. Its really good dealing with someone who's interested. It would be magic to see loads of folk there...
We are now at the Butchrts arms on George St

I feel I should let folk know that my son Rowan ,who has been a member of the RRR collective since he was 15 has had a serious accident .He lost his footing and fell 20 feet or so face down on the concrete below. He has sustained multiple injuries, some of which are lifechanging. He is in a critical but stable condition at the moment and under observation to see if his liver which split in two heals before various operations begin to put him back together. He has lost a kidney ,suffers 2 broken wrists ,a fractured skull and will need surgery to sort his jawbone which is broken in 5 places. He is receiving the best care by specialists in the NHS and hopefully will be mended in good time. RRR has always been a kind of family for him in which he has developed a lot of djng skills over the years, it is a place that is supportive of each other where he feels at home,.Hopefully he will be back on the decks soon enough, Its things like this that brings it all home to realise how fragile life can be, Positive vibrations and thoughts will help in that healing process. One love❤️💛💚
