What a lovely morning yesterday at the Big Sing and Play in Duthie Park☀️🎶

It was so special to watch the next generation of young people singing Our Aberdeen and to think about how music will go on to shape their lives for years to come. Seeing the song continue to connect young people across the city means so much to all of us at Music 4 U.

One of the highlights of the day was meeting up with Jacqueline, a Music 4 U alumni who is now a P4 teacher. She remembered singing Our Aberdeen herself all those years ago and was now watching the young people she teaches grow in confidence, creativity and joy through music, just like she once did herself!

We also had some brilliant conversations throughout the morning about Music 4 U’s future plans and what might be next for Our Aberdeen 👀

Well done to Alisdair Sneden and the team at Aberdeen City Music Service for another fabulous Big Sing and Play. The sun was shining, the music was amazing and Aberdeen was definitely feeling good!

We’re really looking forward to hearing 'Our Aberdeen' this morning at the Big Sing and Play at Duthie Park alongside all the other fantastic performances from young people across the city 🎶

First penned 18 years ago by our Founder & Creative Director, Debra Baxter, 'Our Aberdeen' has always been about giving young people a voice and creating opportunities for them to be heard through music. Seeing it continue its journey through the city and into events like the Big Sing is incredibly special for all of us at Music 4 U!

🎼Music 4 U Announced As BBBB Charity Partner

Music 4 U is an Aberdeen-based charity that transforms lives through the power of music and the performing arts.

The organisation provides inclusive, accessible opportunities for young people, including those with additional support needs, to build confidence, develop skills and find their voice in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Through a wide range of classes, projects and community performances, Music 4 U empowers participants to grow socially, emotionally and creatively, whilst developing key life and employability skills. Their work creates meaningful connections through music, bringing joy, engagement and a strong sense of community to people of all ages.

During the exhibition, the charities talented young performers will be showcasing the high-quality live entertainment they can bring to weddings and special celebrations, offering couples something truly memorable for their big day whilst supporting local young people.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, the theme is Action 💜

The Mental Health Foundation chose this year’s theme as a reminder that whilst awareness is important, real change happens when we take action too.

At Music 4 U, taking action means creating opportunities for young people and their families to build confidence, make friendships, express themselves creatively and feel part of a supportive community.

Through music and performing arts, we provide inclusive spaces where people feel encouraged, valued and able to be themselves. We see every day how creativity, connection and kindness can have a real impact on wellbeing.

Supporting mental health can often come through small everyday actions that help people feel heard, supported and less alone 🎶

What an incredible evening with The Love Bugs! 🎶

We’re so grateful to the students from the Performing 3 Education course at the University of Aberdeen for hosting such a fantastic charity gig in support of Music 4 U!

Together, they raised an amazing £250 for Music 4 U, with all funds going directly towards helping us continue providing opportunities and sessions for young people.

The performances throughout the night were excellent and it was clear how much hard work had gone into the show with the audience loving every minute of it! Music 4 U's very own Lauren was delighted to be invited to also take to the stage and showcase what Music 4 U is all about!

A massive thank you to The Love Bugs and everyone who came along, donated and supported the event 😍

We’re delighted to announce that students from the Performing 3 Education course at the University of Aberdeen are hosting a special charity gig in support of Music 4 U! 🎶

We can't wait to join them for an unforgettable evening as this talented group performs some of the most iconic love songs of all time! 😍

It’s set to be a relaxed evening of live music, fundraising and a chance to come together and support a good cause. All funds raised will go directly towards helping us continue our sessions and opportunities for young people.
