"Thematically I like to deal with Nature’s relationship with the man-made. Both elements form the environment that we find ourselves in from day to day life. Within this is an interaction. Humanities need to possess and even deny ourselves as natural beings is evident especially in modern times with the advancement of technologies although nature can not be denied and time is the telling factor that brings all things to an end. Time and natural forces work together changing the world we live in each day and even the nature and character of humanity is played out before us revealing chance moments and flaws within our creations. A need to defeat time and last beyond our death is built in to many people and to a degree this is very much present in the arts through ideas. Perhaps this is the reason why the topic of Nature and the man-made have come to define my practice. A practice which is imbued with man made methods of creation and visualised ideas, it is a battle between logic and intuition, between man and nature communicated through paint."

"My practice focuses on the preservation and decay of the defunct and obsolete. Sourcing objects and architecture which are now unrelatable to the surrounding environment. I aim to capture and distort through the process of multiple layers and erasure. As the objects have lost their original purpose and are slowly being erased through the process of natural decay, I look to add new layers of context while retaining what's gone before. To evoke the idea of building upon the history and preserving what is slowly being forgotten in the process."

‘The thing to be known, grows with the knowing’ Nan Shepherd.
"I am interested in my own relationship with the landscape of my childhood, which is continuing to grow and change as the years pass. This is a liminal place; a series of edges where river meets ocean, meets land, meets sky. These borders are not rigid. They are fluid, like the water that shapes them. Buildings have been washed away with the tide, and whole industries flooded and forgotten. This land inhabits me."
