Meanwhile behind the scenes… we’re stapling near our own faces, hallucinating from the heat and considering making sweatbands out of sage voile πŸ˜­πŸ˜‚

Cluny last week was HOT. Like… genuinely survival-mode hot.
But honestly these are the installs I live for!!! BIG ideas, problem solving on the fly, a brilliant team and the kind of chaos that somehow turns into something really special by the end of it.

Safe to say Tara captured the reality of marquee installs perfectly πŸ’€

Now excuse us while we recover emotionally and rehydrate.

Loved this weekend so much! It was the weekend of all the big draping jobs!!!! This one here was at in a clear span tent by

We all must have shed a few pounds with the heat! Incredibly hard to work in but the results were worth it!

The client wanted a sheer sage fabric to give a subtle softness to the marquee structure and we think it absolutely worked!

Day two for
For this year’s event we supplied the flower wall, Giant trees, Chiavari chairs and candelabras to help style the space for the night.

Always nice to see so many local businesses, volunteers and supporters coming together for such an important cause.

This weekend we found ourselves stepping in last minute to help a bride & groom after another supplier pulled out the night before their wedding.

Thankfully we were able to help and get everything installed in time.

But it did remind me of something important…

When comparing quotes, it’s not always about finding the cheapest option.
It’s about reliability, experience, backup plans, insured equipment, logistics, maintenance, staffing, transport, contingency… and suppliers who will answer the phone when things go wrong.

As a business owner myself, I completely understand budgets matter. But when you see multiple large services bundled together at prices that barely cover the basics, it’s always worth asking a few more questions.

Our dancefloors alone often cost more than some β€œfull package” quotes!! Not because we overcharge, but because quality equipment, safe transport, professional installation and dependable service all come at a real cost.

Weddings are high-pressure, emotional, once-only events.
Suppliers should reduce stress and NOT create it.

11 years of Illumin8

Honestly, I’m not really sure where that time has gone.

Over the last 11 years we’ve been trusted with everything from intimate weddings to huge luxury celebrations, large scale commercial installations and more recently expanding the business even further through acquiring another events company last year.

And the truth is… I still absolutely love it.
I love the creativity.
I love building something.
I love the pressure of big installs.
I love seeing ideas come to life.
I love the growth.

There’s something really rewarding about looking back and realising how much Illumin8 has evolved over the years. From me figuring things out as I went along to now leading a team and being trusted with projects I once could only have dreamed of working on.

Thank you to every client, supplier, supporter and team member who has been part of the journey so far.
Excited to see where the next few years take us.
