Equipment Manager & Driver – Events Industry
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time, including occasional evenings and weekends

We pride ourselves on delivering a professional, reliable service and are looking for a dedicated Equipment Manager & Driver to join our team.
The Role
This is a hands-on position combining equipment management, vehicle operation, logistics, and event support. You will be responsible for preparing, loading, transporting, maintaining, and returning event equipment while ensuring the highest standards of safety, organisation, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and maintaining event equipment and stock.
* Preparing equipment for dispatch and ensuring accurate inventory control.
* Loading and unloading vehicles, trailers, and equipment safely and efficiently.
* Delivering and collecting equipment from event sites across the UK.
* Assisting with event setup and breakdown when required.
* Carrying out routine vehicle and equipment inspections.
* Maintaining a clean, organised warehouse and storage facility.
* Completing delivery paperwork and vehicle records.
* Ensuring equipment is cleaned, checked, and ready for hire after each event.
Essential Requirements
* Must be aged 25 or over (for insurance purposes).
* Full UK Category B+E Driving Licence.
* Confident towing trailers and operating larger vehicles.
* Good level of physical fitness and ability to undertake manual handling.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Flexible approach to working hours, including early starts, late finishes, and weekends.
* Professional attitude with excellent customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience within the events, logistics, hire, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
* Experience handling and maintaining event infrastructure equipment, including:
* Crowd barriers
* Heras fencing and pedestrian barriers
* Temporary traffic management equipment
* Event signage
* Generators and power distribution equipment
* Marquees, gazebos, and temporary structures
* Forklift licence or relevant plant operation experience.
* Experience with stock control and inventory management systems.
* Knowledge of event operations, site builds, and health and safety requirements.
