The event is held in the field next to Fermoys Garden Centre, Totnes Road, Newton Abbot, TQ12 5TN. It is a registered charity which uses the surplus from each festival to make grants to local charities and organisations. Everyone who comes to Abbfest contributes to our charitable efforts through the money they spend. Since Abbfest started in 2004 over £250,000 has been distributed in grants, and in 2019 alone we raised £18,000 thanks to the efforts of our supporters, helpers and visitors. The organisations we fund include local sports and community groups, clubs and societies as well as charities providing support for cancer sufferers, hospices, animal welfare and emergency services. We aim each year to have every beer currently being brewed in Devon which means over 150 different brews to choose from as well as plenty of Devon cider, gins, wines and even a Pimm’s bar. After years of helping make Abbfest the incredible event it is today, our Festival Director, Roy, is stepping down after this year’s festival.

Don’t worry, he’s not disappearing just yet! In fact, we’re looking for someone to join the team this year, learn the ropes, and work alongside Roy before taking over the role in the future.

What does the role involve?

🎪 Helping organise one of Devon’s favourite festivals
🎶 Working with bands, traders, chefs and volunteers
🍺 Being part of a fantastic community event
❤️ Supporting a festival that raises money for local good causes

What’s the catch?

Well… it’s a volunteer role.

No salary.
No company car.
No corner office.

Just the satisfaction of helping run an amazing charity festival, working with a brilliant team, and occasionally getting blamed for the weather. ☀️🌧️

Abbfest is run entirely by volunteers and every penny raised supports local charities and community projects.

We’re delighted to welcome Nathan Outlaw to Abbfest 2026!

Widely regarded as one of Britain’s leading seafood chefs, Nathan will be joining us on Saturday 19th September for a live cooking demonstration on the Darnell’s Main Stage.

Known for his passion for quality local produce and exceptional seafood, Nathan has earned national acclaim throughout his career and we’re thrilled that he’ll be sharing his expertise with Abbfest visitors.

And that’s not all…

Nathan will be joined by fellow celebrity chefs Michael Caines and Jack Stein, alongside a fantastic line-up of local chefs throughout the day.
