The Humanistic Wind of Soweto is an international performing arts group from South Africa.

Wind of Soweto was formed in 2020, just before the pandemic took over the world and we as a country had to go under an immerse restrictions of the lockdown which made it impossible for the work to build up, worse because we are all from different worlds. Wind of Soweto is a group that consists of four dynamic individuals named as follows, Mninawa Mangweni, Lindokuhle Makhathini, Nolufefe Sweetnes

s Mpahleni and Refiloe Msebenzi who are talented and want to use their talent to spread the love of a birth given gift, love of arts, culture, creativity and the likes of which they have embraced it so much so that they have turned it into a career so that they can share their diverse backgrounds and cultures with others. The determination to continue with the group even though there were strains, show the positivity and confidence of each member and how much they trust in their gifts and their desire drives them to what seems impossible.

“Impiliso” (Healing), produced by the internationally acclaimed Mninawa Mangweni under the Mandela Bay Theatre Complex’s Isakhono Award for Musical Theatre and Dance, is a profoundly moving dance production that bridges contemporary expression and African rhythmic movement.

Through each gesture, the body speaks what words cannot; the body remembers where the mind has forgotten; the spirit heals where history has broken — the spirit remembers what time has tried to erase.

Impiliso is both a cry and a cleansing — a dance of remembrance, endurance, and return.
