This is the penultimate group of photos taken at the Auschwitz Memorial / Muzeum Auschwitz on February 9 and 10 2024 and I used their text to narrate the time between the liberation and the opening of the museum as well as the incredible work they do in preserving the artefacts they found on site. Because the Jewish deportees who were killed on arrival were never registered inside the camp, the objects here as well as the transport paperwork are the last pieces of evidence of their presence.
The N***s tried to erase evidence of their crimes by destroying camp structures so the work of the memorial and holocaust historians is to document as precisely as possible. With the last direct witnesses being very old it is important to do this preservation work.
It happened a long time ago, but it could happen again if humanity allows hate to take over. The reason why n***s were able to kill so many people at Auschwitz was that they dehumanised their victims by assigning them numbers and treated their possessions as assets. Never again must we allow this to happen.

I sorted the photos I took at Auschwitz Memorial / Muzeum Auschwitz inside the former Birkenau Camp. This was a harrowing sight knowing what happened there. The gate of that camp has become a heavy symbol. I used the text provided by the memorial because I felt this was the best thing to do to pay tribute to the innocent victims and survivors of the camp.

On Holocaust Memorial Day, I formatted these photos taken at the Auschwitz Memorial / Muzeum Auschwitz. The Alte Judenrampe is where the Jewish people arriving at Auschwitz had to get off and they were subjected to selection by the SS doctors who determined who should enter the camp and be subjected to forced labour and who had to die immediately. Of the approximately 1.1 million Jews deported to Auschwitz, about 200 thousand were chosen in this way. The remainder, about 900 thousand people, were killed in the gas chambers.
I also added some photographs and short biographies that the Auschwitz memorial share to show the faces on some of these victims.

Today I formatted my photos taken at the Muzeum Auschwitz, this is the first part which focuses on the creation of the camp and its early prisoners who were Polish people from the intelligentzia and ordinary people. I didn't want to make mistakes in my presentation so I preferred visiting their website: https://www.auschwitz.org/ and quote the relevant texts.
I visited the Memorial on February 8 and 9, 2024 - I am grateful that I was able to do so so that I could pay tribute to the innocents who perished there and the survivors.
The memorial has done essential work at preserving the history of what happened there We can never let such horrifying events happen again. It's a difficult subject but we can't look away and ignore the lessons from the past.

In February 2024, I visited the Oshpitzin Jewish Museum in Oswiecim and it was an unforgettable experience because I learn a lot about Jewish life in that little Polish town and I love the museum ethics as they write: "We preserve the Jewish heritage of Oświęcim and educate about the Holocaust and the dangers of prejudice and hatred today."
Thank you Oshpitzin Jewish Museum for your kindness during my visit.

I formatted more photos of Oswiecim. Including photos of the Oshpitzin museum at the Chevra Lomdei Mishnayot Synagogue with Cafe Bergson. Tomorrow I have more about the exhibits themselves.
This Plac Skarbka is such an inspiring place where the catholic churche of the Assumption stands opposite then Chevra Lomdei Synagogue, and the local priest Fr Skarbek was often seen speaking with the local rabbi. He became known for his humanitarian work in assisting the survivors of the holocaust.
Plac Skarbka is the symbol of all those places where different cultures and religions live peacefully together and we must combat hatred in whatever form.

Between February 8 and February 10, I visited the little town of Oswiecim. I wanted to stay there to describe it as a living town and not a stop on the way to the Auschwitz Memorial / Muzeum Auschwitz. During World War II, this was one of the first Polish towns to be captured by the N***s and the first thing they did was to rename it and then implement a policy of settlement, Lebensraum for Germans by displacing the local Polish population and putting the Jews into ghettos. So Poland and Oswiecim fought hard to get back their identity back. Hence I created a travelogue spefically for Oswiecim and a separate one for the memorial, We must never forget that on every historical site there are people who live there and have lived there before the historical events. Ignoring that fact would be erasing them.
I really love this little town and I met very charming people there.
translation as before thanks to reverso as I only speak Polish just enough to navigate the basics.

I finished formatting photos that I took in Krakow between Feb 7 and Feb 8 to create a travelogue in English and Polish. The English text is by me with Polish sources when I found and the translation is by Reverso. The author photo was taken in Spring 2025 because on that trip I looked like a mess but I wore those glasses.
This was my first trip abroad since October 2017

formatted some more photos of exhibits at the Underground Museum St Peter and St Paul Garrison Church in Lviv. which I visited on September 5, 2025. I tried using Ukrainian sources when I could for the texts. This has to be one of the most fascinating museums I ever visited and it was moving to see these objects.
