Loving this one by Olivia Dean - So Easy (To Fall In Love), dropping it today as a Valentine’s spesh 😆💕 but I recon it’s gonna get played a bit this year! 🎷 There’s also another of Olivia’s that I’m working on, gonna be one of the new faves I think. It’s a shuffley gentle 80’s vibe… know which one it is? 🤔

It’s always a lovely feeling to reconnect with the sax, and playing music, after being away… it’s amazing how different things feel after just a week or so out! I’m playing a Bach kind of idea (I used to play a lot of Bach on 🎹 as a kid, love that sound), the wide intervals really force connection with the intonation (tuning) of the notes and it’s a good one for focusing on the sound through the registers… I always feel I’m too bright at the top end when I haven’t played for a while (so I’m working on that!).

It didn’t take long for my mind to wander back to the Alps though, chasing each other down the pistes and skiing into the sunset. We had the most amazing time on the slopes. It was Mrs C and my sister and some musical friends and

I wish I was back there now, up in the mountains. Then again I miss Roobs 🐾 terribly when I’m away, and I wouldn’t be here playing the sax… there’s always a push and pull!🎿🎷

I love being up in the mountains, it’s such a fab environment to recharge and reflect. I’ve been thinking about everything that’s ahead of me this year, lots of fab weddings, lovely couples and super venues… I’m really looking forward to getting going with it all! 🎶

I can never resist a ti**le on the old Steinway 🎹 that’s in the Main House at Middleton Lodge. I’d been playing 🎷 for the Cocktail Reception when a guest came over to me and asked for a jazz standard, The Girl From Ipanema. Well, I had quite a vibe going, everyone was up dancing on the terrace and it was a very lively pop kind of thing… the request was just never going to fit in with that. So I asked the guest to hang on until the end and I’d play it just for her. Everyone made their way over to the Fig House in preparation for the First Dance and there was just the two of us left. Sat side be side on the sofa I played the request, solo on the sax, and it was quite a lovely moment. The lady cried (which made me feel bad) but it was good tears, it just really meant something and it was a very intimate moment. Anyway we got chatting about the old Jazz tunes (which I have a real soft spot for) and I ended up sitting at the piano and feeling my way through a few. I’m no piano player really, but I do love playing those old jazz tunes! And it turned out we weren’t alone… a couple more guests had been hiding in the bar, hearing everything and wondering where all the other guests had gone 😆 🎶

I always love a post gig stroll around the garden… I really appreciate the peace and quiet! Sounds a bit weird me saying that 😆, but after playing, after being right in the centre of the music, it’s just a lovely way to reset.

The leaves rustling in the breeze, birds twittering, the sound of a distant tractor working away… it’s the perfect way to calm the ears back down after a session. So if you’re looking for me after a gig I’ll probably be in the garden somewhere, communing with nature. 🍂🐦‍⬛🚜🎶

A bit of behind the scenes warming up for Josh & Eve today. It’s frosty winter vibes outside, but toasty and warm inside. It’s going to be a gorgeous day. I always love the sound here… the big rooms sound just fab! 🙌🎷

Bringing a bit of Whitney to Kate & Graeme’s drinks reception in the courtyard . What a fab celebration this day was. Lush to be outside under the canopy of trees on a lovely warm day too. I totally loved bringing the vibes 🎷🎶.

Big shout out to for the camera skills 📹 (was an absolute treat to hear her performing the wedding ceremony whilst I was setting up) and it was great to share the day with this fab crew too:

Currently tracking some ideas in the booth on a fresh remix. I’m working with my good mates on their 10yr anniversary remix of a banger they made with the Chicago House legend Ron Carroll. With Ron’s recent passing this carries a much heavier sentiment. The Bros. developed a great relationship with Ron and it was a real privilege to have him on the original track, a true House legend!

We can’t wait to share the fresh vibe with you as soon as the work’s done! 🎧🎷🎶

Caught bringing the vibes by to Hollie & Hylton’s epic day🎷🎶. Fab couple and fab guests with loads of energy, it was inside for the drinks reception this time but that’s no probs , such a lovely spot inside and out! 😍
